    That's soft with delphine's unvote.
We should probably hammer in case Asmo unvotes at the last second for the nl win.

    Mountainous Mafia #2 Votal 4.4

Miner [4] - Fable, Asmo, Rubicon, Delphine.
    Fable [1] - Miner.

With five players alive, it takes three votes to soft-lynch and four votes to hard-lynch!

Day Four ends on September 28 at 3pm PST.

    Hard lynch has been reached...

A mile away, abandoned, was a theme park. No one knew why it was built in such a dumb location, but perhaps it was for this moment. A future burned into someone’s eye. Vines and leaves grew through rides, every inch claimed by nature- except one.

The Witch Hunt Roller Coaster was as bright and new as when it was first built. The creator of the ride, Dr. K. A. I. Dash IV, from Meme University, posed dramatically on a banner, the rules and roles of the ride in huge speech bubbles around him. The speech bubbles seemed to have been painted over multiple times. In fact, the paint was still wet. A poster hung beside him with a ruler: You must be this ___ to ride.

Most thought the missing world was high. Miner, wise in the ways of the world, despaired at knowing differently.

“Why do I always get the weird deaths?” Miner said aloud, as Fable checked the controls to make sure it still worked. It did. Probably by magic.

“This is our best bet, Miner,” Asmo said. “This ride is special. It’ll spare you if you’re town, so it’s win-win either way.”

Miner thought of this, and finally nodded. “This can’t be too bad then.”

Rubicon and Fable strapped Miner into his seat and the roller car hummed as the ride came alive. The car rolled up the hill and Miner took a deep breath as it crested. He could see all the park from up here, but now Miner could see the dozens of loops ahead of him.

“You know what?” Miner said, voice high. “I think I’d rather- IEEEEEEE-”

The town watched as car went through loop after loop, the screaming still intense. They couldn’t tell whether he was having a good time, and Rubicon helpfully cupped his hands to the mouth and shouted, “IT’S OKAY MINER IT ONLY KILLS SCUM!”

The screaming continued. At the final loop, the coaster car seemed to hang at the top before gravity weighed it around-

    BANG.

Everyone ducked, debris and embers flying over their head. Where the coaster car had been was now a hole in the track, Miner and the car vanished into fire and death.

“It was trapped,” Asmo said in a hollow voice. “But how? We’ve been here for hours, who could have snuck off…?

“Yeah! And why would Miner commit suicide this way?” Fable said, but when he turned to Asmo, he found Rubicon with Asmo slumped at his feet. Blood covered Rubicon’s knife.

“Don’t worry, I’m probably town,” Rubicon said.

Fable backed up. “Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hey, we killed scum, we’re going into Night. The game isn’t over.”

Someone tapped him on the shoulder. Delphine wore an apologetic expression but her rocket launcher said anything but.

“You know, when we started this, I thought we were totally screwed,” she said, taking aim, “but this turned out better than I thought. Goodbye!”

“Wait!” Fable screamed, and the rocket hit him in the chest.

After the smoke died down, Rubicon and Delphine convened.

“Well, we won!” Delphine said. “And you know what this means…”

“I get to roll town again,” Rubicon said with wonder.

Delphine put a hand on his shoulder.

“We can both roll town again.”

    Miner was blown up!

He was a Town Happy Camper.

The town can no longer lynch scum!

    Asmo was mercy-killed!

He was a Town Happy Camper.

Fable was shot with a rocket launcher!

He was a Town Happy Camper.

    Rubicon has endgamed!

He is a Scum Unhappy Camper!

    Delphine has endgamed!

She is a Scum Unhappy Camper!

The Scumteam of Rubicon and Delphine win!!!

Nice job Delphine. You were so widely townread that even pushing you in later phases became impossible.
I know someone will say that pushing a widely townread scum is always possible, but I was always on worse footing than her and she was only possibly scum with Rubicon, so I had hoped to lynch him first. That changed after Fable said he was never lynching outside of Miner.

    T-T

    Good job all.

    UNUSED FLAVOR.

If scum had forgotten to submit a night kill on N2, because goddamn.

The wind blew heavy when the town woke up next morning. They shivered in their sweaters and coats, bleary-eyed and scared as they assembled in the clearing. Eyes glanced over faces, one by one, looking for the one who would never appear again.

But there was no such person.

“… six… seven… eight?” Someone stopped counting only to recount. “Why is there still eight?”

“This must be a mistake,” someone else blurted out. “Why would…”

They fell silent. Everyone did. Over the howl of the wind, thunder rumbled in the distance, dark clouds over the horizon.

    A storm was coming.

Modnote: the storm was my anger.

If Asmo had been night killed N2 and Jan replaced out. (unfinished).

The wind blew heavy when the town woke up next morning. They shivered in their sweaters and coats, bleary-eyed and scared as they assembled in the clearing. At once, they saw the missing number.

    And the second.

“What the fuck?” someone said. “Oh no, don’t tell me there’s a surprise Serial Killer.”

“What happened to them?” someone else said. “Where are Asmo and Jan?”

To look for them, the town split up into two teams.. Asmo’s team walked deep into town, passed house after house until they reached Asmo’s. And there outside a broken second-storey window, was Asmo’s body. Clearly he should be held as an example on why jumping through glass windows is fatal. On the back of his shirt was a boot print.

“Someone killed him Sparticus style,” someone said horrified.

They ran back to the clearing to tell everyone the news, and it took ten minutes for the other team to join them.

“Asmo’s dead,” someone from Asmo’s team said. “Murdered by scum.”

    And the reply:

“Jan’s gone. He stole the bus and just left. But there’s someone in his house. The lights are on and there’s smoke coming from the chimney. They wouldn’t answer the door when we knocked.”

If No One was lynched D3.

And so, the town argued and argued as the scarlet of the sky burned to night. One by one they stomped back into their cabins until only two remained. No one was around the hear their conversation or the smiles that twisted their lips.

    The moon rose.

The town slept, but not for very long.

If Rubicon had been lynched D4.

Since the guillotine was still being cleaned and they had a suspected scum in their midst, the town decided to get creative.

“Not sure if I like this death,” Rubicon said aloud, as a town person checked the controls to make sure it still worked. It did. Probably by magic.

“This isn’t a death, Rubicon,” someone tsked. “We’re testing you for evil.”

Rubicon thought that was a stupid idea, but maybe this death could be cool?

The town strapped Rubicon into his seat and the roller car hummed as the ride came alive. The car rolled up the hill and Rubicon took a deep breath as it crested. He could see all the park from up here, but now Rubicon could see the dozens of loops ahead of him.

    Rubicon sighed.

The town watched as car went through loop after loop, silent. Rubicon wasn’t one for screams, but the couldn’t tell whether he was having a good time or not. Someone helpfully cupped their hands to the mouth and shouted, “IT’S OKAY RUBICON IT ONLY KILLS SCUM!”

    It didn’t help.

When the car came into its station, Rubicon was dead in his seat, an expression of mild displeasure on his face.

The town looked at each other.

    “Rubicon rolled scum AGAIN?”

If Fable had been lynched D4.

“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Fable said, holding up his hands. “Back off, I’m not scum.”

“You can’t fight the power of town, Fable,” Miner said, raising a morning star that he coincidently had packed. “We’ll do this nice and peaceful-like.”

Fable looked wildly in all directions, but there was nowhere to run. He couldn’t fight all these people, could he? He needed backup. SPOOKY backup.

“COME, MY MINIONS!” Fable yelled, and the ground began to rumble. The town grouped together.

Asmo shouted, “Fable, what is this madness?”

Fable laughed manically, and a kitten skull broke through the dirt, its teeth hooking on to a rock as more skulls pulled themselves out of the ground. Each skull was no bigger than a palm and they were fused together into a human-shaped amalgamation. Six in all and red light beamed from each socket, their heads of skulls looking at the town with fangs barred.

    “What the fuck?” Rubicon said.

Fable pointed at the town. “Kitten Bone Amalgamations, attack!”

The amalgamations charged… only for the first to be kicked over by Delphine.

“Fable,” Delphine said hesitantly. She didn’t want to hurt Fable’s feelings. “They don’t even go up to our hips.”

And like that question for the ages of whether an adult can beat up a bunch of kindergarteners at once, Delphine punted each amalgamation until they didn’t get up again.

“No!” Fable dropped to his knees. “This isn’t possible!”

A shadow fell over them. Fable looked up. The morning star gleamed.

“Town wins, Fable,” Miner said quietly. “Town wins.”

Fable died within one swing, and when Miner lowered his weapon, he wiped sweat from his forehead. “Pew! Glad we finally killed scum.”

But when he turned to Asmo, he found Rubicon with Asmo slumped at his feet. Blood covered Rubicon’s knife.

“Don’t worry, I’m probably town,” Rubicon said.

“Hey, wait a minute!” Miner backed up. “We killed scum, the game’s still on!” He pointed at Fable’s kitten minions. “Look at that! It’s evil!”

Miner backed into someone and stopped. Ice ran down his spine and he couldn’t turn around. The sword sticking out of his stomach helped.

“I’m sorry, Miner,” Delphine said meekly, twisting the sword further. “Buuuut I want to see Obs, so bye.”

    Miner dropped.

Rubicon and Delphine locked eyes, both stained in blood.

“You know,” Delphine said, “when we started this, I thought we were totally screwed, but this turned out better than I thought. And you know what this means…”

“I get to roll town again,” Rubicon said with wonder.

Delphine put a hand on his shoulder.

“We can both roll town again.”

If No One had been lynched D4. (My favorite flavor that tied up all loose ends)

“Ahhhhh,” Asmo said, holding his head.

    No one listened.

“Fable’s scum!” Miner insisted, pointing at Fable, who crossed his arms. “Look at him! Evil!”

“Miner,” Fable said. “If we were scummates, I would bus you so hard you’d be buried and fossilized. BUT SINCE WE’RE NOT you’re scum alone, sorry.”

“I think there’s two scum in this game,” Rubicon said.

Miner huffed. “Then I have to do it myself. Don’t worry, the flavor will back me.” He tapped the heel of his fancy black boot on the ground and faster than light, kicked out, just missing Fable who jumped back.

“Fine!” Fable clapped his hands. “COME, MY MINIONS!”

The ground began to rumble. Rubicon helpfully grabbed Asmo’s arm, as Asmo looked like he didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

“Fable,” Rubicon started, but Fable laughed manically.

A kitten skull broke through the dirt, its teeth hooking on to a rock as more skulls pulled themselves out of the ground. Each skull was no bigger than a palm and they were fused together into a human-shaped amalgamation. Six in all and red light beamed from each socket, their heads of skulls looking at the town with fangs barred.

“Um, Fable…” Miner said. “They’re kind of kindergarden-sized.”

It was true. The biggest didn’t reach Miner’s waist. They were actually kind of cute, but Miner was a hardened soul, so he leapt forward. The first skull exploded at the force of his kick and the bullets launched for his next kick shot through the torso of the second.

“This isn’t how I wanted it to end,” Asmo said, and Rubicon placed his hand on his shoulder. “How could the game end like this?”

“It was an interesting game,” Rubicon said, his knife flashing as he slit Asmo’s throat. Blood spurted out, and Rubicon stepped around the body.

Fable and Miner stopped, but neither were surprised. At once, both turned to each other.

    “I KNOW YOU’RE SCUM-”

    “YOU WON’T KILL ME-”

A kitten amalgamation toddled towards Rubicon, who pushed it aside because kittens weren’t very dangerous.

    “Ahem,” Rubicon said.

    No one noticed.

    “AHEM,” Rubicon said.

Both looked, and at that moment, a car burst through the bushes and roared over the amalgamation, smashing into Fable and screeching to a halt near the treeline. The darkened window slid down and a barrel of a rocket launcher peeked out. Miner gaped and tried to run but the rocket hit him in the back, the explosion wiping out the cabin next to him.

The door to the car kicked open. “That was a thing,” Delphine said, looking as bright as innocent as a person that didn’t help murder nine people. “You know, when we started this I thought we were totally screwed, but this turned out better than I thought. And you know what this means?”

“I get to roll town again,” Rubicon said with wonder.

Delphine put a hand on his shoulder.

“We can both roll town again.”

    GG wolves.

Hope GH and Asmo stick around; I liked your styles.

Think town could have been slightly more proactive in cutting off mislynches - people letting themselves go down at least partially in order for their reads to be given more weight is pretty much never worth it. Making yourself unassailable as a villager is a much more powerful weapon.

Also think at least one, maybe both of Rubicon/Delphine were vulnerable to the "approaching mislynches from a 'wanting to shoot the middle ground of proactively pushing and looking reasonable' perspective" thing, but. Pretty easy to say that as a spectator. I thought it was GH/beruru during D1 so /shrug.

Hope to be able to play one soon.

Can people please start defending themselves earlier than two hours before EoD?

That would be super great. Ok hand emoji.

72 hour Days are great and all, but if 36 of them aren't being used, what is even the point?
