Well it is f2p so I would suggest checking it out first to see if you are okay with the mechanics, graphics, etc (and if you are patient you can do the whole story entirely as a f2p). If you like it and want to get serious about doing the story quests I would suggest buying a month of premium access makes the main game quite easy to breeze through, permanently unlocks the add-ons (if you are interested in them, I would say they are worth playing at least once) and simply enjoy the stories. And once the subscription ends you get "preferred" status which comes a number of quality of life improvements and as said lets access the add-ons.

There is actually a nifty reddit page that summarizes all the differences between the various modes so check it out.

In regards to time - I never played the game seriously as a f2p (I bought it at the start and generally buy once a year a month of subscription to check the updates etc.) but as a premium player you can certainly do a "basic" storyline over a long weekend (I think that ~25 hours is a good ballpark for the basic class story playthrough and I would add another 5-10 if you check out the "side" quests and so some (solo) flashpoints) and maybe the same if you want to do all the add-ons but I am far less certain about that since it has been quite some time since I last did those.

@Erandil Are you including Fallen Empire in that 25 hours?

Also there were some great storylines. My top three:

    Imperial Agent
    Sith Warrior
    Jedi Knight

    Least favorite:
    Consular
    Inquisitor
    Trooper

I think smuggler is the funniest. Truly felt like Han Solo.

I still want a proper single player KOTOR sequel though.

Maybe it was a limited time event, but they changed it so story quests give thousands of percent more xp so you could just breeze through the story and ignore mmo side quests right?

Imperial Agent and Sith Warrior are the two best stories, aye. JK is very by the movie numbers, but still fun.

I think the only ones I'd say to actively ignore are hippy consular and yawn trooper.

Nope, just the "basic" game/storyline without any of the DLC. I mean you can probably do it (the main-game to level 50) in around 10 hours if you only do the class specific quests and what little extra you need to get the rest of the exp (especially if you have equipment from other chars, exp boosters etc.) but I included stuff like the planetary quests-line, some of the sidequests, some companion stuff since I find those worth playing, at least the first time.

It's free, if you just wanna level. End game you basically need a sub for it to be worthwhile, but leveling is easy enough without paying a cent.

I've always found it weird, since that's the best part of the game, but whatever.

A RPG set in a typical fantasy world with Orks, Elves, Dwarves, magic, etc.

Except the goal is to kill yourself.

Sounds easy, right? Well, not so because there's a damned prophecy about you and literal Gods will do everything in their power to make sure you don't die.

So you have this main character who tries to kill him/herself by various means, but there's always something going wrong.

    Mechanics:

    1. The goal is to lower your continually-rising HP until it reaches 0 and you die.

    2. Your mana is also always rising, so you must lower it as much as possible.

    3. You start at level 100 and need to somehow get to level 1 so you'll have as little HP and Mana as possible.

    4. Monsters in this game don't try to kill you (most of the time), instead they're annoying Fairies, Pixies and Spirits healing you all the time and they NEVER shut up about this fancy Prophecy you're featured in.

    5. Instead of enemy warlocks or witches, you'll encounter well-meaning Priests and Clerics who will try to heal you and put protective enchantments on you.

Possible title for the game: Suicide Quest.

I like it though it would be challenging to have some good mechanics for getting yourself killed.

Maybe instead of lowering your levels, you have 10 lives and every time you manage to get yourself murdered, the gods resurrect you stronger than before.

Since you can die easily, the quest would be more about solving puzzles and finding objects that can permanently hurt you. Then you would need to find a suitably strong enemy (by finding clues where they're hiding) or somehow gather a big enough group of lesser monsters (by finding a way to attract them into one place).

I game I would like to play is basically the genre that is recently popular in manga and light novels. An RPG with later added strategy and city-building elements where you start as an extremely low level monster and evolve into the next dark lord.

A Jak 4 that would clean away the mark of a game we do NOT talk about.

Damn, I miss those characters. I still play the main trilogy as an adult.

An MMO/sandbox for DBZ that has the openness of Destiny but the combat of the Tenkaichi or Xenoverse games. If only netcode can handle high speed fighting mechanics in multiplayer PVP.

Another idea would be a Harry Potter MMO. Where PVP shouldn't be too dissimilar to Destiny. Only difficult thing would be adapting magic in a balanced way. Maybe have classes based on different types of magic (charms, transfiguration, curses)?

It would be better to just do away with classes, you could be a jack of all trades or become highly specialized in one or two areas. Infact, do away with levels also. The more you transfigure tings, the better you are at it. Progression based off of doing the thing, rather than clicking a skillup button or buying a new spell from a vendor.

Anyone remember Gladius? The strategy rpg set in Norse/Rome mythology.

I want that modernized, and set in Westeros.

As of seeing Hunt: Showdown, I'd love to see either a first person Red Dead or a new S.T.A.L.K.E.R game using the new Crytek Engine.

There are rumours that Firaxis Games is working on Marvel XCOM game. Probably more like MCU XCOM game than X-Men, but it does have a potential.

I want more Sly Cooper games :(

Hopefully not butchered like Sly 4 was. That's be great.

In a pinch, I'll take an Assassin's Creed game that goes back to the original playstyle and away from the rpg monstrosity it's become.

Maybe applicable, but I would pay mad money for a remake of the PS2 games LOTR: TTT and LOTR: RTK. Granted, it won't be the same since companies realized they make more money if they force people to own separate copies of console+game to play co-op, but yeah. Give me that and take my soul.

I'd love a first/third-person, base-building and crafting mage RPG. Multiple paths of magic, build yourself a wizard tower, a witch cottage, a warlock lair, a druid den. Do some spell-crafting, enchant some items, summon some familiars. Interact with other mages, with the nearby townsfolk, with the nobility, with creatures both magical and non. Some decent writing would be nice, as would the ability to add more paths to your magical repertoire after you master them each in turn. If there's a main story, let us freeplay after the end as well.

A Pokémon MMO where the gyms are dungeons, the Elite Four are raids, wild mons are out and about, and your own can follow you and be interacted with. Basically, everything you'd expect from a Pokémon MMO.

I've been looking for a fun magic RPG for so long. Something complex and deep with awesome powers, but in first or third-person with lots of good movement as well. Something like Magicka's System with Anthem/Outrider like movement for the character. Just ridiculous amounts of power if you can handle the complexity. A fully destructible environment like Fictorum but AAA quality would make the best magic game ever. Why has no one made a city destroying game yet?
