That is not a smile of joy. That smile means: "I am enjoying your suffering."

FTFY. You're being like Taure, when he tried to ruin everybody's fun with that post about how Harry, Snape, and Voldemort were like the Peverell brothers, and Dumbledore was death. Taure immediately went to nitpicking.

Everyone else got the joke. Yes, we know book Snape is fugly. Don't rain on the parade, mate.

Actually book six should Be: Dumbledore Tells Harry and Snape a Whole Lot of Nothing About His Plans, and Seven should be Dumbledore Congratulates Harry for Going Along with His Plan.

    That'snothowthekillingcurseworksffs.

Also, those Gameboys weren't out when they were that age. I DEMAND realistic continuity in my humour.

Sadly enough I had to seriously consider the same things before posting that picture.
DLP is where humor goes to die.

I can give some leeway, but this is just not the correct password incantation.

Meme would make sense if the wand then told Harry it was super drunk, or that gameboy proximity caused a glitch in its programming.

I mean, do the books ever say how the killing curse works? Besides that it is green (which is a mistake).

Crouch!Moody says the whole class could point their wands at him and cast and he wouldn’t even get a nosebleed, which strongly implies it isn’t something that could be cast on accident.

...meaning the image is clearly suggesting Harry is just generally filled with a strong desire to murder Ron.

I assume Ron saved over Harry’s file.

Sooo...Does that mean that the students aren't capable of casting the Killing Curse at all, or does it mean that there is a sliding scale of damage that can be done with the Killing Curse? Like Harry's casting of Crucio on Bellatrix not being enough to truly cause her pain because he didn't mean it enough.

I'm kind of curious now. Fanfiction seems to treat the Killing Curse like some perfect death machine that destroys everything in its path, but Crouch's line could mean otherwise. The closest I've ever come across something like that in fiction is one story where Ron gets winged by an AK and it permanently paralyzes his arm (due to not enough contact).

Sounds to me like it either works, or it doesn't. They say no one ever survived being hit by the AK, and I'd assume this means a properly cast one. Get hit, drop dead.

If you exchange "winged" with "very near miss" I'd subscribe to that theory.

Well if we subscribe to the theory that the killing curse forcibly severs a soul from a body, and also account for the fact that as a ginger Ron Weasley has no soul, it's safe to assume that it had no real effect on Ron and he just kinda glitched out for a moment while his magical core reset.

Also explains how Molly Weasley was able to defeat Bellatrix. Poor Bella couldn't understand why her killing curses had no effect on Molly, and in that moment of confusion Molly was able to transfigure Bella's spinal fluid into cheese sauce.

re: the idea that those Game Boys weren't available then.

It's already well established that the Harry Potter universe is more technologically advanced than ours. Otherwise how would Dudley have had a PlayStation when the book says he did?
