ringmaker's had a few quick updates recently and i'm assuming this is where sophia's importance in coming into play... maybe.

    long story short:
it finally seems the sauron inside of her has woken up a little bit more and taylor's pretty much accidentally mind-whammied (at least that's my interpretation) nearly everybody around her... except for sophia.

Thanks for that link fire, I just went down the rabbit hole of reading autistic people debate how severely bullied people should react in social situations, the most retarded of which have professed to not having read the source material. My favorite is from this dude who after giving reasons on why a person who's lifes been systematically pulled apart should be more upbeat goes ahead and says this:

Reader mode was the best thing spacebattles has ever put out.

Shadow of the Bay is a Worm/Naruto crossover in which Tenten, during the Tobi thiing, finds herself in Brockton Bay. Only two chapters so far and it is pretty solid. It's also written by jacobk, who produces really solid stories.

The good thing is, it doesn't use Sasuke or Naruto but one of the more grounded ninja and perhaps the most underutilized character of canon.

Not that much yet but what was written is pretty fun so far. Worth to keep an eye on, at least.

Also, made the classic mistake of reading non story posts in the thread and was justly punished for it. Only have myself to blame on that one.

Yeah, that's a lesson we all learn I think. I've stayed away from it after someone advocated Emma being tortured with the implication of potential rape also being 'deserved'. You're better off using the Reader mode ten times out of ten.

Thing is, I definitely know better but at times, I still make the mistake thinking, "surely this time it won't be bad but interesting instead" and get punished for it.

    Just dumb that way.

Edit: It's not there are never good/interesting/fun comments there but yeah, unreliable frequency of those as weird power debates and things like you mentioned tend to dominate.

The worst part is, you want updates so you subscribe to the thread, but there's no way of knowing if it actually updated except checking the thread itself. So you've got to scroll through page upon page of sperglords discussing stupid shit.

What do you mean? You only get an alert if the author updated and even then, it says in the alerts how many words they wrote so you know whether to check out the thread because it is a new chapter since it is a couple of thousand words or just some discussion because then it is a few hundred.

That only works as email. There's no option to get an alert on the forums only if the OP updated on SB.

No? Has been working that way for years.

This is how it looks to me, or am I misunderstanding something?

It's a bit more in-depth than just clicking the option, but here's how to do it. Same way on SV, and I think QQ (which doesn't have reader mode).

If you click "watch thread", you should get three options:
    • and receive OP email notifications
    • and receive email notifications
    • without receiving email notifications

If you pick option three, you only get alerts when the thread fulfills your "alert criteria". To edit them, click your user name (top right, third from right), and click "alert preferances" (left hand side, six down), which allows you to make edits.

The second section, "messages in threads", allows you to edit what your "alert criteria" are. If you click "thread starter replies" and "TSR always alerts", you'll get a notification when it's the OP, and a wordcount.

Here's my set up for it.

Shadows of the Bay seconded. Definitely a fun read; Jacobk is a good writer.

Silencio appears to be updating again, after going silent in 2014.

I re-read the lot of it. Whilst it hits the stations of canon, and seems to focus on fluffy-harem shenanigans, it is still decent fun, and the writing isn't terrible.

The harem antics get annoying, and really seem stupid in hindsight, but not the worst I've read.

I honestly think every single person on spacebattles should under go some sort of psychometric testing. There must be some interesting conclusions studying a group that large which fails every time to understand societies pleasantries and why we act the way we do.

I'll always remember the greg gamer piece in which a bullied Taylor displayed trust issues, and that was inappropriate according to the many fine individuals there. One person gave all the steps on dealing with bullies before revealing his apparent school life as a basketball star who played with and against people now in the nba - exactly who comes to mind as a bullying victim.

Where is this being continued? I'm kind of into it but it seems the thread is locked on SB.

Its from back in the day when threads had a page limit. First post (non indexed, because raisins) in each thread has a link to the next

This started back when SB had issues being unstable and wouldn't let any thread go over a hundred pages.

Rejoice, for there is the relatively new invention called "Reader Mode!" On the right side of the page near'ish the top. Just click away and you too don't have to read about things like Morality Arguments, Versus Arguments, Headcanon vs Canon vs Fanon arguments, or basically any sort of bullshit that is preventing you from enjoying a story.

    Can I get a Hallelujah!

    Hallelujah!

Seriously that's fucking great. Silencio is also pretty ok as well. If your into slightly different rehash it's a good time waster.
