    ...srsly ?

She has a website, with an email address....it was right there on her profile page.

Why don't you try asking her directly, hmm ?

Her website has not been updated in a rather long time, and she seems to have deactivated her email account.

A few dozen. The main complaint I see is that it's AU - that's what the Alternates board is for.

That is not the main complaint. This is. And incomplete at that.

And I know it never gets any better because I'm fucking psychic, bitches!

But she writes terrific combat, with great descriptive scenes. It's AU to the point that Harry Potter is barely relevant, but it's fun and exciting. I want to know what happens next...

This fic starts off really badly. The whole room of requirement and stopping time thing is just stupid, and it presents a whole lot of problems which the fic ultimately resolves by just ignoring it. It was why I discarded this fic the first time I read it.

However, once you get past this bit the fic evolves into what is actually a pretty decent read. It will never be the best written fic in the world, and there are a number of inconsistency/logic problems with the fic, but it is entertaining and fun and that's what matters I suppose.

People usually like a score attached with these mini-review thingies, so here's mine. 3/5. Maybe 3.5/5. Somewhere around there.

In the author's notes I've read and the email exchanges I've had with her in the past, she has come across reasonable, humble, and likable. Even if I hated her story (which I don't--when she was updating, it was a guilty pleasure read of mine), I wouldn't wish her ill.

She even confessed to enjoying my gum-magic alternative ending...

And you like underpowered/wimpy main characters like canon Harry.

    Got it.

If it made him "overpowered" in the context of the story, like animagi do in the vast majority of stories in which they are included then sure, it would be ridiculous. But in this story he is hardly the most powerful, but at least he can stand up for himself.

Which only proves it isn't the most ridiculous thing in the story.

Ah, there you go people, you've heard it on the DLP forums first. Power = ridiculousness, as a character increases in power they also increase in ridiculosity. Readers should feel free to apply it to any and all novels they read from now on. We can start making lists like 'the most ridiculous characters ever created in fantasy/sci-fi' and have arguments like 'Gandalf is dependent on his staff and Dumbledore and Voldemort on their wands, so they are clearly less ridiculous characters than Rand Al'Thor'.
