This is a great story and Geor-sama is probably among the best fanfiction writers I know of. I am currently eagerly following every single one of his stories and unlike many others, he has great update speed.

Fuck, I can't remember which story this was and why I stopped reading it.

There's a sequel out now isn't there? *sigh* I suppose I should try again...

 

I didn't find this story to be very inspired.

It's really just a "Naruto put with a different sensei" with the original twist that noone knows he's a jinchuuriki. I never really did figure out how that contributed to the story.

So we get to see Anko quite a bit more and she comes off as the traditional "I'm a crazy, sadistic bitch" stereotype with a few moments of compassion mixed in.

One thing I didn't really appreciate was that Naruto was originally said to be Minato's brother.

Now I realize that when this story was first written it hadn't been confirmed that Minato was Naruto's father, but come on. The writing was on the wall.

And considering that Minato died sometime in his mid-twenties after becoming Hokage and on the very day that Naruto was born, it's really an unbelievable (but not entirely impossible) stretch.

I think that the author may have retconned his early chapters to make them father/son, but that sort of WTF logic makes me uneasy when I start to read a story.

Eventually I lost interest sometime after they met up with Tsunade.

 

People now think he has an Advanced Bloodline, which raises his status considerably. In this particular AU all Jinchuurikis are considered as eta...

Sorry in advance for opening this old thread up but I have to ask if this story is still worth reading it.

I want to know if this story and it´s sequel still hold up to current standards or were just good for their time. I don´t want to read a 300k monster if I don´t know if it´s still good.

So is this story on the level of Menace, Shezza or The Pro´s work or did it age terribly, like many HP classics?

 

First off, I may be wrong but I think in a case like this you'd try and find a smaller thread for questions like this, maybe this one in this case.

And to answer your question, I personally think it stands up well as one of the best fics in the fandom. Perhaps not quite the level of Life in Konohas Anbu or Wind Chakras!™, but still well worth reading.

 

It is still one of my favourite Naruto fics...the choice of Anko as Narutos sensei and their whole relationship,the interaction of Naruto and Ino is great and the scale of the fic especially in the sequel is really massive.The only knock is that it has a sequel that is not finished and that it is not a stand-alone story but stil it is a 5/5

 

I think it's an interesting take on the premise of Naruto with an alternate sensei which has been done pretty well. I think that it manages to retain its appeal despite an almost comically dumb Naruto and the Naruto/Ino pairing. His writing is not too bad, and he doesn't overpower Naruto too much either. And Evil!Powerful!Itachi is done pretty well. Definitely a 4.5/5 from me.

The story has several problems. I only need to spell out "Ninjamart" for you to understand. Another problem is the plot holes.

One of them is that Naruto is keeping his canon name, but nobody knows who his parents are.

The grammar is okey, not good but not poor either.
