What can I say? I had an idea, and I'm slowly brain-farting it into chapter. :sherlock:

Heh, to think I checked for a chapter tonight. Anyway, good story, especially for a SI.

I agree that this chapter what had occurred was quite confusing, and it kinda interrupted the flow for me as I tried to work out what was going on.

I enjoyed it and I'd like to read some more.

The first post in that SV thread claims this is on hiatus. Is this true?

He just updated it so I'd assume not. There was a few rapid updates at first and then a month before this one though so I'd assume it's just updating slowly.

I like it Hash, I'm not sure what the word count is but it doesn't feel like that much has happened yet. I'm generally not a fan of either SIs or Roose Bolton so I'm not very attached to the protagonist yet (no offense) but you have a good balance of actually impacting things and not being too much of a fix it fic.

Like the others said, latest chapter was pretty confusing but I'm happy to see it updated at any rate.

It's on hiatus until I update it. And then it's on hiatus again. I really don't have a schedule for it, and there was a furor recently with a new poster who got dog-piled for reviving the thread.

I have both of Hash's ASOIAF fics on my daily check tab :D

I thought that the story could have used a bit more introspection and stuffs, what would a person really think about ending up in Westeros in somebody else's body? But it seems that Hash is really just plowing ahead into the AU action. I felt like the fic had some surprising similarities with ADOTN, but that might just be the writing style and fast pace.

    4/5.

I actually like Leech Lord more than ADOTN, but perhaps that's just because Jon's such an aggressive little shit.

While I don't really like SIs, the whole ROOSE IS LOOSE does sell me on it. Well done Hash; I totally won't make a bunch of alts and fake a necro to lynchmob next time it falls by the wayside, no siree bob.

Great story, even better idea. Interesting idea keeping all information about the SI locked. The mention to the Total War Series alone earned an extra point. 5/5.

Lol, sorry. Is there a reason for two seperate review sub-forums? Doesnt' seem like there's enough traffic to justify it.

You seem to be new around part this of the library... Other Fandom's library section has been around for ages. Especially it's review board usually generates more traffic (or at least threads) than the HP-section.

Despite being a huge fan of SIs, didn't really like the Leach Lord all that much.

In an ASOIAF SI, I'd mainly be interested to see how the character, from our modern society, struggles with all the fucked up shit that is Westeros. If they did make it to the part where they could actually effect changes in some positive way, they'd probably be faced with a number of moral dilemmas related to how best to use what they know. And I think the biggest pitfall in a successful SI is to prevent them from being too successful in influencing the world.

The problem with the Leech Lord is that our SI protagonist keeps all of Roose's memories, and doesn't seem to have any issues with adjusting to the change in society. His methods are basically inspired by what Roose would have done so you don't really see anything different about the way he tackles issues in this world.

Everything goes his way. Even with knowledge from the books and the future, he seems to break past all obstacles without even trying, whether that's military success or even something as small as swaying people to his opinions. Any plan he has comes to fruition. With all of Roose's experience and cunning, with the SI's knowledge of the books, the protagonist is too overpowered.

More than an SI, it just feels like a Roose Bolton time travel fic. I feel like the grittiness is there to try to avoid it from becoming too much of a fix it fic, but given how easily the protagonist has had it so far, it still ends up with the same cheesy feel - but without any feel good moments to actually make it an enjoyable guilty pleasure.

    2.5/5 for me.

Leech Lord has now finished. Ending was unbelievably rough and should have been paced and plotted better, but apparently Droman is contemplating a sequel where Droose pops over into Robb or Robb himself is the MC.
