    It was way better if you saw it in one of the Dolby theaters, what with rumble seats and everything. But most of it came down to how much you could get into the Kubrickian pacing; I fucking loved it, but it felt every minute of three hours to others.

    I'm purely talking about his work. It's a very distinctive style which I generally find to be aggregating. I have no clue about his talks or anything.. I recently did a retrospect of Dirk Gently with friends and I realized how little I liked it, that I was forcing myself through because I loved the source material

    So Baby Driver was good. Not great, as it had some fairly glaring flaws, but still a good experience. I'd probably like to have watched it in a theater where it wasn't quite so loud though.

    The Director also did What We Do in the Shadows and Hunt for the Wilderpeople. I have faith in his comic sensibilities. But man, Karl Urban is the manliest man in film. Doomguy, Dredd, now Skurge? Hell yeah.

    Get Out actually works because it knows exactly when to play with horror or to use comedy. It manages to avoid all the crappy horror tropes while getting across a strong message about racial objectification without being preachy.
