The goal of Inquistorial Squad is to breath some life into WbA. We don't need a special forum, we don't want it to be private. Anyone can participate and that should be encouraged.     I'll humor you since you put in some decent effort to respond. Your first example is from when tags were first implemented on the site, and a lot of bad choices were made, since that time, if you make bad tags, mods have to clean them up and they don't like that, which results in a time out. I think the only reason those exist on the thread is because it was just too much shit to have to clean up. That being said, your idea isn't without merit. Keep an eye on the change log of features that @Lord Ravenclaw is implementing. He's got a summer project type thing going where he's working on features and enhancements for the site. The doc upload thing has been talked about and to my knowledge is something on the burners to be implemented. As well as direct FFN import. Its just a matter of time....

    The biggest issue here isn't the mechanic, its the usage. I haven't enough fingers the number of ideas we've had and asked for in the past that's not been used. There has to be concentrated effort. And it has to be appealing to /everyone/ not just your group here on the forums. Commenters travel in packs here and its easy to see.     I'm pretty certain that inside the Sorting Hat (where new members get locked to when they sign up) there is an intro thread there where they have to make their first post so they can get posting privilage. I seem to recall it being this way. So they have their intro thread, and they can talk to other new members if they have access to that forum. Which I think its very limited. E: I stand corrected on this. We dont' have an intro thread in the sorting hat, its only for sorting out bots....

    IRC is so simple all you have to do is click a button on the top of the site. It's not complicated. You do have to leave the tab open. A client is useful for notifications and such. Kiwi is a bit simple. Discord is alright if that's your thing. The chances of a bridge happening is between none and zero.
