I found Harrymort plenty effective. What exactly didn't you like about the conclusion? Sure I would've loved to have the story continue but the conclusion was good and overly long humor fics almost invariably succumb to Cerebus Syndrome and become mediocre, at best, drama. 5/5

Enjoyed this story far more than I thought I would. The idea that Harrymort takes everything wrong as further proof of conspiracies against him or proof that people really are as devious than they would really are managed to make me like this story far more than I had expected too. One of my more liked fics and something I have come back to re-read when bored.

I greatly enjoyed this story for its humor and also its surprising degree of cleverness. I rarely actually laugh out loud while reading but I burst into laughter multiple times while reading this story, and my smile was present throughout. Anyone who labels this story as 'crack' has a far different definition of crack than I do.

Much of the humor arises from Harrymort's character and specifically his ability to quote, "lie so well I sometimes fool myself." While the rest of the setting and characters remain quite similar to their canon forms both Voldemort, and hence Harry, are a strange mix of socially inept, slightly foolish, completely paranoid, extremely persuasive, and surprisingly competent. Harrymort is frequently completely wrong about other people's motivations and yet somehow is paranoid, competent, and persuasive enough that even with those misunderstandings he can come out ahead.

I encourage everyone to give this story a try and recommend they at least read until the end of second year before writing the story off. While I think the best chapters are all towards the end people can get a good enough grasp of the humor and direction of the story by then to accurately decide if the humor isn't working for them. For the first few chapters it seems the author hadn't really grasped Harrymort's character and where they wanted to take him and so it may be a little rougher than the rest of the story.

I give this story a 5/5, it's one of my favorite in the fandom.

I think that it's extremely silly, but also very funny. It's quite nice how Voldemort effectively becomes a decent(-ish) human being by the end of the story.

Enjoyed the story much more than I thought I would. Loved how Harrymort was portrayed as being competent but often due to completely wrong lines of thought on his end. Was surprised when the author went with making Voldemort similar in that regard rather than closer to canon, but completely enjoyed that change and the plot elements the author was able to use due to that change.

It's probably not for everyone though, although I would say the story's best parts are spread evenly, if you don't like it close to the beginning, no point in continuing with it.

Still, I would personally recommend it 5/5

Odd, I clearly remember reading this yet I don't seem to have posted in the thread. That's not like me. Not like me at all.

I'll rate based on my recollection of this fic, which was pretty positive. I'll give it a 4/5.

For anyone thinking about picking it up now, it's more of a proper humor story than crack!fic. It has an actual plot and decent characterization. Voldemort is in Harry's body (obviously) and is hilarious in his observations of the world. Mostly followed canon events from what I recall, but everything was done in an original way due to the protagonist being as much Voldemort as Harry.

It half feels like Voldemort is trolling the world - only trolling is intentional, and Voldemort doesn't realize he's doing it.

I'm a sucker for fics with protagonists that are basically idiots, and this is an exceptionally good one. HarryMort is actually a really fun character, especially the bits where it's just his internal monologue. Overall this is an easy 4.5/5 for me (which is basically 5/5 for me, since I never rate anything at the max amount.)

Also, that ending hit me right in the feels.

I think this was brilliant, as crack fics go, the tone is consistent throughout and it does a solid job of creating an interesting narrative without loosing the basic premise.

It definitely appeals to my sense of humour too, very sarcastic and witty. Worth reading just to get to the line

    5/5

Really enjoyed this fic. I would rate it a 3.5/5 because i personally enjoyed the sarcastic humor but the lack of plot kind of made the story feel a little gimmicky. I would give it a read. It's definitely something someone new to fanfictiob would enjoy.

As far as complete crack goes, this fic is more than palatable. It is concise, to-the-point, and often funny. However, as someone has said, it does feel completely gimmicky. The characters have no depth, and the premise, which might have been interesting, is undermined by the fact that this is not a Voldemort we can take seriously.

In fact I believe this betrays a significant structural problem: it is possible to make excellent, biting, sarcastic and witty crack-fiction with this sort of nutter-Harrymort, but the improbability and nonchalance of this sort of character cannot sustain a reader's interest for more than a one-shot. At 20,000 words this would have been remarkable. At 100,000 it just feels like overkill and boredom sets in way before the halfway mark. Still, the concept and the wit merit 3/5.

I'm conflicted in reviewing this. The story is funny, and consistently funny. It succeeds in that main mission while maintaining great pace (covering all 7 books in 100k words without somehow feeling rushed). I disagree with an earlier comment, as this story does have a plot. It also incorporates lots of characters in funny, nuanced ways (Ron being pen pals with Fenrir Greyback, for example).

With all of that said, there is a certain lack of depth, and as Astaphta mentions, it can have a gimmicky feel. It did feel as if it was straddling the crack!fic line. Because of that, the story didn't quite engage me like I'd hope. Overall, though, a 3.5 rounded up to 4/5 from me. It's still a fun read.

This is the only fic I've reread. It is well termed crack for it is addicting. Consistently laugh out loud funny. 5/5

5/5 when taken as a crack fic, it made me laugh multiple times and it is always an enjoyable read when I don't want to read through heavy plot lines and emotional moments.

A definite 5/5: one of my favourite stories. The TVtropes pageputs it best in describing it as a story so good you "occasionally get confused on whether it's a parody, or just an AU with a humorous tone". That is what humor fics should by all means be, and I love it.

Lots of fun in a bun! It's been over 2 years since the fic was finished and I still have fond memories. I definitely laughed.
A mix of crack and everyone around Harry trying to be serious. Harry might just be insane. The crack isn't irreverent destruction of conventional writing and canon but rather a where will this story go now with Harry being a total idiot. I was hoping for more Harry Potter work from the author but it looks like that didn't happen.
