Meh .. game is just weird.

It is a dlp game, but I miss the fun dlp People.

No Jari. No Vira. No Kai. No Miner. No Citrus (not that he is ever around). No Newcomb. No Delphine. No dLGn (well he is not really dlp but still ..)

You and reg are the only People here and you are playing your own game that I am not really in the mood to Play.

I am already more invested than I wanted to be, because I wanted to take games a bit easier for a while and see if I can make that work.
Apparently that Ends in me skimming too much and being too disconnected from half of the game and People hating every Minute of it.

    Lesson learned. Moving on.

Thanks dC. Makes sense mostly I think but it's late and am not reading too deeply.

So, essentially you'd kill Waco->Kalas->Vaimes->Jan->Beru? I tend to tier my townreads into mech/lock/strong/weak/lean which is why all those names being in one clump in yours was a little weird for me.

You strongly townread fonti here; why do you not buy her locking Vaimes as town since she's the one person here with enough meta knowledge of Von to be able to do that basically 100% of the time and it always be right?

Same reason I'm leery of locking Vaimes/beru myself: I never entirely trust meta. I'm aware font is vouching for him but it's very much a "this is vaimes rolling town" thing and I'm fully aware that at SOME point Vaimes is going to blindside a game by successfully playing to his town meta as scum. It's always the way of it. That game could be this game! And unfortunately his actual solving power has been on the weak side (though this is shored up by the aforementioned "background thought processes" read). Plus I put more stock in first order reads (i.e. my reads) than second order (i.e. reads my townreads have)

Honestly my kill plan would be Waco->Kalas->reevaluate the shit out of the game, but assuming I had to lock in five in order it'd probably be roughly that yeah (although...Beru->Jan->Vaimes? Jan->Beru->Vaimes? Jan->Vaimes->Beru? Honestly ordering those three is hell and I suspect largely pointless b/c by the time it comes down to actually sorting them my information landscape will be completely different)

sigh, one final post then maybe I'll actually drift off.

@Gemma - Sure we can talk about DC tomorrow.

I'd have no issue it was just a case of us disagreeing on reads (I mean if I was right and you were wrong I'd totally make fun of you post-game but you'd do the same in the reverse scenario probably tenfold) but I don't get the impression you've actually got real reads here? I think you've skimmed, thrown together some small things without bothering to read any further and try and work out peoples alignments, your "They're not important now I'll read them later" points to that. It's like signing up for a painting class, turning up and pouring a bucket of paint on your canvas and going "I did it, I did the art" and walking out.

There's content and information here to get There on them and you're opting not to take it. So it means you're having the opposite stance that I have, no real commitment to the stance you have and a complete inability to have a conversation about them, then complaining when I'm deciding to converse with Gemma rather than yourself more. Puts me in a position where it's really hard to work with you or read you and I want to be able to do both those things since I enjoy playing with you and think you're someone I can actually gamesolve really well with.

I understand that you're attempting to minimise game investment, I acknowledge Things are happening during this game, I don't need walls from you or anything, but like rather than having these rambly things where you're annoyed about what we're doing spend that 5-10 minutes reading their ISO's, coming out with a stance based on full information.

But anyway have fun with the pool etc and I'll actually be able to sleep now, I think. I hope.

    Go to sleep Reg!
    --- Post automerged ---
I'm going to sleep too actually.

And yeah I don't think I have any huge issues with your Vaimes read dC, can understand your read for the most part even if I don't really agree.

Might feel a little silly but imagine we're in a world where both Waco and Kalas are town, who do you think is scum there? Is it just Beru/Jan/Vaimes for you basically always? Do you have an exact team you would go to next or multiple teams or just one slot you think would be most likely mafia or anything else along those lines? If you feel like playing with that a bit and providing some reasoning that would be pretty helpful I think.
    --- Post automerged ---
Reg, reasoning is bad since it's like... AtE... but... think Jan is just town here.

    Ok goodnight.
    --- Post automerged ---
I mean it's more than AtE but. You know.

    Yeah.

I mean you are not wrong with your impression.

    I was in thread early.
Lost a bit of contact and was only skimming from my bed for the most parts afterwards.

Started reading from the start while keeping up to date.
Got slammed by everybody and their mother for everything I said about the first 2-3 pages.
Didn't have time to actually move on because I got asked to do other stuff so I swapped over to iso reading people today while defending myself against people that like to pile on for no reason.

I have not read anything in depth after the time in thread where Bears agrees with Gemmas scumread on waco (which is at the bottom of a page) and then Gemma asked for some details on the matter and bears stays vague because they hadn't slept enough at the time.

Everything after that is stuff I skimmed in bed and mostly forgot about or stuff that I was in thread for.
Some things I saw in my iso reads or because others quoted it later on .. but I am not up to date and I won't get up to date at this rate because I am more busy defending myself from blasts from all sides when I want to have some fun while I am rereading and giving opinions.

I know that I have to catch up one those parts. But Right now my priority is getting to the pool soon and swim for an hour to clear my head and get some training.
I plan to put another hour or two of work into this game today, but I am also very likely to spend an hour or two with some dm or dlp folks playing videogames and relaxing. And if Fonti is one of those people then I am definitely not looking at the game in those times.

This is frustrating to you, but my way to limit my gametime is to not care about not being 100% caught up and invest a healthy amount of time while having enough time for friends and family.

So when you dislike my reads because you think my reason for the things I point out are wrong, then that is fine.
If you dislike them because I am missing something that happened later in the game, then you just have to calm your horses for a while and look at my progress then.
    --- Post automerged ---
    Oh no!
You won't like my last post if you thought that was AtE already.

Only first round but interview went really well. I'll start parsing through this middle of the night content.
    --- Post automerged ---
Again, why? It's not like he was wasting time pushing on a lock read. He pushes, I have stuff to read/form opinions on later and I get to focus attention on other things that needed it.

Yeahhhh. You do not get to dictate what I do and what has priority in my life. Get that shit out of here.

Core are largely town read players that are essentially town locked/I'll need something major to reevaluate.
Vaimes, fonti and probably you and Gemma fall under this. Town circle are still town read but are either weaker reads or have someone objecting. dC would be an example of the first while Jan/Beruru would be examples of the second.

Von feels Town and the 'from opening post' read doesn't feel like something he'd do as scum. Waco is ehhhh. Not scummy but poe-y? After rvs jokes the singular focus on Gemma reads like he's unable to abort (which is a position I've been in as both alignments). On the other hand his 593 is a low effort version of dC's SoC catch up and 596's question shotgun reads as How to Look Busy 101. The biggest thing making me wonder is the fact that he hasn't tried to push my wagon but I imagine that'll be coming in the next couple of hours.

Sure. It's a mess of consensus reads making me self doubt and not enough time over the past 24 hours in thread.

God, maybe this game is just Easy? For now?

I feel like I have reasons to townread everyone except Waco, and it's like. The latter happens every game, sooo if he flips town I'm going to throw up???

    hang on
    --- Post automerged ---
oh yeah like Kalas literally just said, not scummy so much as PoE-y but like, what else is new
    --- Post automerged ---
lean town, town, not town, town

dC is ehhh...eh? I'm not really There, but I'm also doing this before I check Reg's posting, so.

everyone else is various pitches of screaming

also I'm taking that to mean that I won't accidentally hammer him here

    Unvote, vote Waco
    --- Post automerged ---
I feel like at this point there's no choice but to end up at Waco + some other PoE person, of which there aren't many. This game has too many "let these people resolve themselves" players, and when there aren't enough Night phases to let that happen, boom, everyone implodes. Or just runs around in circles.

    uh

okay dC's catchup post kind of gives me a headache to follow so...I'm gonna put a pin in that and call it a day

Ha! You just hammered a town and lost the game.

(It takes seven votes to hammer.)

I feel like the sheer number of people who want to lynch Waco indicates he's actually town but also I feel like his partner has no chance but to bus now so like ?????

I think in a game that has exactly two mafia wagonomics are not an easy thing to look at unless you have people rolling scum that have really obvious voting paterns as mafia.

If waco is scum then the partner is likely bussing.
If waco is town then scum don't care about it and are either in the middle of nowhere or on wagon.

To me wagonomics make sense in 3+ scumgames, but maybe you will proof me wrong!
