Firstly, I'd like to establish what exactly you do know about me. In our last game you claimed literally all you knew about me was my MS account name, and now you're saying literally all you know about me is I won a scumgame here. I was the lurky head of Potatoheads in the MU hydra game you subbed out of.

Secondly, I hate playing as scum because I'm not a good liar and have a huge tendency to TMI, plus it really elevates my self-consciousness (which is already bad enough when I'm town). In my last scumgame on DLP I benefited greatly from my permanent limited access status in flying under the radar, although I downloaded the thread and spent hours preparing wallposts to dump to still try to meet activity standards, and apparently really convincingly tunneled GH. Rubicon, von and I have had such historically poor performances as scum that basically by not being hot garbage, we've managed to win as scum in the past two DLP scum victories despite sort-by-postcount indicating people should be willing to consider different worlds.

There's a lot I want to respond to in #476 (Cobalt wall) but I'd prefer for Newcomb to pop in first.

I kinda feel like mal is the only one who is actually trying not to spam. I'm not sure if it was tactical or due to lack of time that he wasn't more clear about current stances/etc. in #402, but regardless I think I'd get a better read on him if he wasn't trying to force concision.

 

From where I sit, there's a big difference between, "don't Mal & Fonti have similar styles" and "Fonti has been active." Besides, how much solving were you expecting before #149 less than an hour into a 5 day Day?

I do sympathize with the last sentence, I have that feeling a lot.

Hey Delphine. Any chance you can give a more in depth look at one of your town reads, and a scum read that isn't Newcomb?

It's less the amount of votes, and more that it felt wagony in that he did a 180 on his read and followed two other votes.

Kinda digging this angle from dC, this and the previous post about fonti. Don't especially agree with the content of the read, but it doesn't read particularly partner-y and if he knows fonti is town I think he'd have come up with a slightly less convoluted way to give a townread here.

 

I think convoluted townreads are perfectly fine for DC as either alignment tbh.

 

Hoping someone answered this for me because it's still bugging me - anyone remember the game Waco super focused on either Lump or like, some other somewhat similar mechanic?

 

Some Vaimes stuff I like:
- Treatment of fonti seems pretty natural aside from possibly #215
- #245 seems honest
- #320 and also the post where he is "electing to ignore" the fonti thing for now seem non-nervous
- I like the trajectory on his read on you; I think his reads were more...boring/1 note last game, although I was skimming
- vote switch to dC and the "ew" seems town!Vaimes

I don't particularly have scum reads at this point beyond vague bad feels, but I won't keep it a secret once that changes.

I already explained why I'm voting Jarizok, and my reasons are a unique and beautiful snowflake.

Plus if you think I bus Jarizok of all people with anything less than the fire of a thousand suns on D1 of a no flip game, lol. Like, if I go that way, I'm shoving all my chips into the middle and going for a Refuge In Audacity type thing.

I have a carefully crafted meta of never bussing my partners ever. (I've done it a few times but it's always been kind of a "forced my hand mechanically in the midgame" thing). Mostly because I enjoy being hard cleared when I lynch wolves. But also because I don't think bussing is a very good strategy unless you can really pull off distancing well, and I can't. Also because it's not fun. I like having a team and playing as a team, as a wolf.
