I mean in this case his reaction would have been "push the first shitty case you could find on a buddy that was likely going down eventually anyway"

Still feel like it should have been followed by asmo souping most of the time but, you know, lolwitches or whatever.

In the world the fonti shot makes somewhat more sense, as I could believe Gemma overthinking it enough and coming up with /some/ reason to bank a dangerous but pocketed read.

Would still surprised be that she got the hard reads from both fonti and Jan.

I'm ok with asmo getting some townpoints if it's confirmed waco is a witch but
It's not enough points to move him ahead of vaimes or gemma imo

Maybe he'd officially be more likely town than stanari? But that doesn't really do anything.

You’d really kill Asmo over Gemma in confirmed witch Waco worlds?

I feel like you missed my reasonably hard meta-adjacent town read on her.
I know I don't know her as well as they do but we have played together a half dozen times and been w/w twice
    --- Post automerged ---
    Wouldn't even question it
    --- Post automerged ---
I've got gemma as unaligned with shadow AND behaviorally townier than anyone but cobalt.

I think if Waco flipped w I’d be sold on Asmo as town bc of both Waco and Asmo’s posting today

So I’d be after one of Gemma/Vaimes.
    --- Post automerged ---
I actually have a feeling that won’t be an issue but someone quote me on this next Day and I’ll explain what I mean.
    --- Post automerged ---
That made no sense in the context of the post I posted immediately before.

    Ignore me.

    Gemma read:
Her shadow push was, like, the opposite of Wacos. Because it's not played up but she actually wanted to lynch them.

And I'm not gonna go find the mechs posts but she's just trying not to screw up and her understanding is slowly building as people explain things and when she gets a piece of ~solid info you see it leak into her next bout of solving and yeah gemma is town bro
    --- Post automerged ---
Those were strong words and that's maybe more confident than I feel about it but yes I would lynch asmo over gemma if waco was confirmed scum.

I first posted this 30 hours ago:
Unless by "reads" you mean reasoning for my reads. Nobody even took notice of that post, though, or asked me questions about it (aside from the "just makes it harder" part). Everyone just kept saying "Asmo needs to do something". But they were there well before "the end of the day". Just not in any detail. I also said I thought you were most likely to be w/w with shadow before Newcomb cleared you. Nobody asked about why I thought that, either. Did you know that out of 6 content-based posts that Silver made, he addressed you specifically in 4 of them, and mentioned you in all six? Did you know that Shadow's immediate action upon replacing in was to herald the beauty of your towngame and continue to campaign for your lump? Did you know Shadow made a lolTMI post where he said "One day I'm actually going to play with scum!Newcomb" in D1?

I'm not joking when I say I've spent hours staring at this game. Making sense of it is a different beast altogether, and I'm having to rely on feels instead of concrete reads. That said, it isn't like I've done nothing, either. It's just that I haven't done *enough* to share a sum total of my thoughts on the game. If people bothered to ask me where I'm getting a certain feel from. Maybe I just forgot how to point at my trail of thought, maybe it just took me getting this frustrated and willing to give up before I could actually write, but here we are.

Since I'm at it, some thoughts on Shadow partnerships:

    a. –"Ugh, I’m kind of worried Newcomb is just scum that’s pushing this angle because we’re town/town. Not really anything to do with Waco’s play, but I just hate how he’s pushing this “always one scum between shadow/Waco” line.” – notable change of focus. I think this came from a mindset of trying to shade Newcomb as opportunistic, but the way he says “because we’re town/town” while remembering to maintain his “scumread” (“not really anything to do with Waco’s play”) seems like he’s talking about his partner and trying to get one of them to look better (by claiming T/T against Newcomb's W/T when it's really W/W), as opposed to talking about a villager.
^thoughts that started to get me to discount the spat between them.

    Also,
Reads Gemma as “really hate the emotional play, makes me not wanna read her atm”. Then follows up later with, “Is it bad that I wan to Lump Gemma solely because I hate this hyper emotional style of play and don’t want to read it?”- Newcomb mentioned somewhere that this was probably W/V because personal comments on emotional stuff generally aren’t used for distancing. In this case, I’m inclined to disagree. Not sure of Gemma either way, but important to note that Shadow following up with “hence why I’m not actually lump voting Gemma” in his next post and the general impression I get of him makes me not want to put it past him.

Also, misc-, “Cobalt is town or I’m pocketed. I’ve talked about this already, but his thoughts are basically my own.” Could go either way. Seems likely at this point that this is W/T, as it seems like an especially dangerous post about a partner and a post that a wayfaring scum might want to make to mislead town later on.
“I like Tom, but unfortunately that probably doesn’t mean much for his alignment. I’m hoping we just lump him, but if not, I’m going to proceed with the idea that he’s town but always have doubt in the back of my head.” Classic partner read?

Whatever, though. None of that is AI. Anyone can put in effort. What I was looking for was more concrete. Turns out I'm not able to actually put in the attentive detective mentality I used to have into this game, so I'll settle for the mechanics of it all. You might be right, maybe I should have posted this earlier. I just didn't want to post incomplete thoughts and then have to be backtracking later. I wanted to form conclusive opinions. Either way. I'm done for now. I haven't voted nolynch yet. I know some said we should hammer. Idk what the votecount is at, though, and I wanna give the players likely to get souped a chance to drop some final stuff before ending though. Gonna vote before I sleep.

Sorry for the formatting. I normally note things and then format them well into a larger wall that outlines my thoughts. Nothing is normal this game, though. On the plus side, tonight is the first night I'm awake this late and don't feel exhausted and stressed. Maybe letting all that off my chest helped.

Correct I don't count giving a ~consensus naked poe as giving reads.
    --- Post automerged ---
    I did actually.
And it's not unexpected I am 99% sure I've played more games with both shadow and silver than everyone else in this game combined. I've been in over half of both of their career games, same homesite, and me and shadow are just straight up friends. None of that surprised me.
    --- Post automerged ---
That is an incredibly scummy mindset tbh.
If you're town this sounds like a great way to get yourself mislynched.

I don't think Gemma was ever consensus more wolf than Vaimes at the time I made that post. I felt strong resistance even mentioning that Gemma might be scum. I grouped Gemma together with Waco for that reason. It's only now that people are starting to consider worlds where I'm town that Gemma is coming under a spotlight that extends beyond Fonti and Jan's townreads of them.
So no, I disagree that they're consensus, but that's a minor point. I don't really consider naked reads to be giving reads either.

This I think is shadows true opinion of "emotions-based players"
Gemma would be straight up lynchbait on mtgs it doesn't go over well there.

Not when you're catching up. What's the point of making a read or a push and then have it be refuted by something a little further along that you didn't read? I get what you're saying, but I don't think it applies to me trying to catch up to the rest of the game. I feel like this game would've actually been fun if I was an original member and didn't have to play catch up all day, but oh well. Woulda coulda shoulda, right?

Though lynching the emotions out of people has fallen out of vogue a little.

    I blame tammy
    --- Post automerged ---
I mean, especially when you're catching up if the point is us trying to get a read on you and see your process.

Any competent scum can make town looking walls when they have time to prepare and edit them

I believe that it's his true opinion. I also believe it's an easy out. Whether it's both or not will be evident over time.
    --- Post automerged ---
Fair point. I'm not arguing that I played it right, though. I realized how *wrong* I played it when realtime days went by without me making progress on a "complete" view of the game. Might've held myself to unrealistic expectations. Doesn't matter now though lol we're at where we're at
