    I'm trying to to figure out why people think prestige is ban armor. Iirc doesn't it say somewhere in this thread that those that have pretigie are held to a higher level and are to expect more severe consequences for their actions?

    Not to beat a dead horse but I have 300 notifications to catch up on.

However, rejoice! you've prestiged and gained an extra life. In the event that a moderator/admin decides to ban you, instead your post count will be set back to 0 instead! This is a get out of jail free card and only will happen once. Make the best of it.

    So yes, we definitely all should know better. But the specific wording of this says we have 1 instance of 'oops i done fucked up' insurance. If that isn't actually the case, then we should probably just get rid of this little feature entirely.

    I thought prestige meant stop being self serving and go out and help the community tbh. I give no fucks about the extra life's. When the time comes for my ban I'm sure as well will have fucking earned it.

    Everyone that's ate a ban since they hit prestige has earned it. They get plenty of warnings. The thing is you never go full retard. Don't know about you but when I fuck up on the forums I get a message telling me hey you fucked up don't do it again.

    On behalf of myself, I wouldn't really care all that much if we just got rid of it. I don't IRC that much and I mainly lurk in Politics, so I'm a fairly low controversy member. I think I've gotten like two shitposting warnings in eight years?

    Mainly just spitballing in response to the outcry over permabans.
