The plane scene from the trailer is based on D. B. Cooper, a guy from real life who extorted $200,000 in ransom (equivalent to $1,260,000 in 2019) and parachuted to an uncertain fate. Despite an extensive manhunt and protracted FBI investigation, the perpetrator has never been located or identified.

Other scenes seem to be based from storylines "VOTE LOKI" where he wants to become president on a campaign based on being "pro-lying" and "Loki: Agent of Asgard" where he's on several secret missions.

 

Like I said, "arguably". There's points for and against. My point was, I doubt there would be much, if any, outrage for the Morales-direction in the event Tom H. dies. Tom's got a rabid fanbase. I don't think it would go over very well if they simply replaced him in the Homecoming series.

I think that's why they voted not to replace Boseman... or did they. I've read conflicting reports. They definitely have said they weren't going the CGI route. That's doesn't leave a lot of options: either Little sister picks up the mantle or they have him off screen and not in the movie at all. The latter is utterly awful and the former is much too early in the series. I'm sure they'll come up with something.

WandaVision released first two episodes recently and I saw them today.

I'm glad to report they're really good!

Without spoiling anything I'll just say that the mystery has me interested enough to want to see more episodes.

 

So the Tatiana Maslany casting as She Hulk got leaked, then it got 'debunked', and now it's happening again?

Is this confirmed now for real?

 

Most of the 'debunks' are not true anyway. They just want to stall until Disney/Marvel are ready to make the official announcement.

TLDR - Shit got leaked and the actor(s)' got an NDA, so they deny the shit out of it until the business is ready to lift the NDA with an announcement.

This kind of thing is a pretty standard response to leaks, for better or worse.

It has been stated that WandaVision ties directly to Multiverse of Madness and strongly affects Spider-Man 3.

So far we know:

- Doctor Strange will appear in SM3.
- Jamie Foxx as Electro from Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014) will return in SM3
- Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus from Spider-Man 2 (2004) will return in SM3.
- Charlie Cox as Daredevil from his Netflix show will return in SM3.

There are rumors that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield are returning as their respective version of Spider-Man.

Now we are getting reports that Chris Evans will return as The Human Torch from Fantastic Four (2005) in Doctor Strange 2.

Marvel has also expressed interest in keeping Jon Bernthal as Punisher from Nextflix for future projects.

So by this point it would be silly to deny that the multiverse is coming in full force. Marvel is reaching for all past movies to reuse as they see fit. A recent surprise appearance on WandaVision should confirm as such.

The same actor playing different characters is pretty common in s-f about travel between universes. What's unexpected is that they want him before there is MCU FF.

Ah, I was trying to think of something equivalent to the MCU in scale. I don't think a couple of episodes of Star Trek and SG1 function as proof of concept for having Captain America suddenly being Johnny Storm not being seriously confusing for the audience.

 

To be fair nothing like MCU's scale was ever done. We're breaking new ground here for lots of things.

 

It shouldn't be more confusing than any other film where one actor plays two characters and there is a lot of these outside of s-f. What they need to do is have a line or two explaining it and most viewers will get that Evans is playing two superheroes.
