    Hmm

    Blood magic - constantly used

Thread Magic - Used quite a bit but not as much as blood magic as the protagonist can't use it.

Metal Magic - Is starting to be introduced more but there are no real blood metal users among the main characters.

    Wandless Magic - Used often

Silent Casting - Mentioned a lot but she never seems to specify if the casting is silent or not as she doesn't use a lot of spell names, something I think helps battle scenes flow smoother.

Close combat / weapons - incorporated into battle scenes.

Animingus - Used probably too much.

I think thread magic is the weakness. If it's as powerful as we've been led to believe - the ability to distance-kill someone half way around the globe is certainly a powerful skill - then it should be in use a lot more.

I don't recall it ever being mentioned that if could kill someone from halfway across the globe.

    From another room, yes.

But I think a sufficiently powerful wizard could counter it.

The only reason I think she introduced it was to be used in wards which is indeed a weakness. Introducing elements for a single purpose is what creates plot holes.

    Idiot.

Last chapter she resolved the conflict with the Fae from the last story.

She defeated Voldemort who was the whole reason for going to Akren.

She is slowly building on his skills, not giving him one till his other skills allow him to use it.

The whole time travel that seemed so random has now become vital.

The blood tree she introduced like 30 chapters ago is about to be used to make him a new wand.

So why dont you read the fucking story before making idiot calls.

Something was mentioned about killing someone halfway around the globe with trhead magic but i dunno if its that simple, i think it was said only the masters can do it and and it probably needs blood or something... Dresden files stylee.
Erotic adventures of s: i agree but i think some of the points were quickly resolved and seemed kind of rushed so that she could get to the next part of the plot.

Ummm. Okay We knew about an 5 chapters into the first one that the next part of the plot IS the whole point of the fic. The whole voldemort thing barely even qualifies as a subplot in my mind.

Yeah, I know but that doesn't mean it has to be so rushed, I believe she said herself that she was planning to finish Voldemort and the other distractions off quickly so the real plot could be revealed and i just find that disapointing. As for the whole demon taking over the world thing, I think it's probably one of the best plot movements in fanfiction.

The Voldemort thing was done badly. She admitted that this was an original work of hers she was converting to HP. But it was a very ruff translation, and instead of increasing the power of the whole world, she too the cowards way out. That being, shoving Harry into a different, more pwnsome world, greatly offending Mordecai.

Voldemort should have been the main adversary, and should have been approaching Namach in power and skill. It wouldn't be in the trash right now, if that were the case.

PS EAoS: What story is 'defeat' from? It looks interesting.

Actually, Voldemort shouldn't have been anywhere near Namach's power: Namach is thousands of years old, and has been practicing Blood Magic the entire time. As I recall, Tristan got his mastery in his twenties. Voldemort managed to work out certain soul rituals from scattered information he found in Hogwarts library (Book6,) and developed Parselmagic as an impressive combat magic, but he's self-taught, and handicapped by that.

Everyone, just because Rahkesh's final defeat of Voldemort took only a fraction of one chapter, don't think that it was easy. That last confrontation is the end result of several important battles, in effect a campaign against Voldemort.
The battle in which Cyana revealed her Dark Angels and Voldemort's pet basilisks were killed along with Nagini, and his werewolves and vampires.
The battle in front of the Magical Species council, in which Voldemort's basilisk shape was badly damaged and he lost most of his Inner Circle.
The Plague, which cost Voldemort numerous Death Eaters as well as many unmarked supporters of his Pureblood agenda.
Don't forget Rahkesh's dedicated effort towards finding and destroying Riddle's Horcruxes. Also, remember that Rahkesh contaminated some potions ingredients and caused a lab explosion that killed over a dozen technicians.
Moreover, Rahkesh is FAR from the only person who was working against Voldemort and his DE covertly.

The "Defeat" quote is from ASCaL
Conversation between DeathDragon Elf Magic and Rahkesh's Thunderbird.

I have to agree. Given that Voldemort is one of the most wooden villains in modern literature, I don't begrudge her having made the whole Voldemort thing a sub-plot. (There's plenty of other things to complain about with this fic--this just isn't that big of one to me).

That said, the whole "find horcruxes and destroy them before Voldemort" is a bit silly. If snake-guy is really so marginal, why bother with the trouble of killing Nagini? Isn't it easier to just kill Voldemort a second time over when he comes back? (It's not like he posed that much a problem for Rakhesh the first time around and his masked fan base was rapidly dwindling). I guess getting the soul fragment out of his head was some motivation, but still--it wasn't like there were many "fall to his knees and bleed through the scar" moments he had to fight through. Basalisk!Thunderbird!Rakhesh would have toasted V had he tried.

Actually, that's why this fic isn't in the fucking library, jackass.

Read the thread before making asinine comments, prick.

PS I meant 'never would get into the bin', as in people would rate it higher. Don't flamebait, Joschneide, this is only your fourth month on DLP.

Bleeding from you vagina are you?

    I'll bite.

Voldemort sucked. Ass. He was a pathetic excuse for a villain, and while I know he isn't the main threat, it is still fucking stupid to have any "threat" at all be so pathetic in a story.

As for the skill building, yes, she is doing that. But no, she is not doing that well. If I know two spells, one that makes your head explode and one that makes you die after five minutes, they are equally hard to preform, and I want to kill you, which will I use? She introduces more powerful forms of magic, but continues to use the weaker ones for seemingly no reason. DBZ-syndrome. I have Kamehameha, but I'll just keep using Masenko for no apparent reason.

As well, this story, post-Voldemort, has lost all semblance of the HP universe. If she had kept him as the main villain, I'd give this a 4/5.

Rahkesh generally doesn't use curses like that.

Most if not all are instant death.

Read 15 chapters of this yesterday out of boredom. As a pure HP fic, it will only get 2/5 from me. The original material wasn't bad from what I saw, but the transition was way too rough. Less then impressed with how the Death Eaters handled themselves during the Diagon Alley fight. Didn't really like the focus on Vampire society, it doesn't fit very well with HP canon, IMHO.

The disguise seemed to be just a cheap way to systematically destroy Harry's character, with no development at all.

I've never liked Wandless Magic, and this story certainly didn't change my opinion of it. Blood Magic, while somewhat interesting, seemed to be just another way of super-powering characters, all be it more developed than in most cases.

The Europe bashing seemed seemed pretty unbelievable to me, the fact that nobody knew about the much better schools was very strange. The information should have gotten out eventually, through a vengeful Headmaster candidate, if nothing else.

Writing style got better as time passed, it kind of sucked me in. Would possibly have kept on reading through the night, but the dimension/time travel thingy jarred me out of the story. Might check this out again some day, but that's not too likely. I'm also a bit wary of the author's Slash fanaticism.

I personally don't think this piece good enough for the DLP Library, but I won't rate the thread since I haven't read enough to judge the fic properly.

    Another point.

How many spells do you need that are instant death?

IMO, any instant death spell better have a good reason for being used above AK, and a reason why AK is better.

Anything that is a more efficient killer than AK, and more painful curse than Crucio, or a great controller than Imperio, is, IMO, usually fail.
