I've got two plot bunnies that need to be fleshed out, both with Harry/Fleur.
one is HP/SG1 and has Harry not the BWL. Harry gets an Ancient upgrade similiar to the one by Daniel Jackson.

the other is an AU of sorts, with Harry born 2 years earlier and Neville being the chosen one. still trying to work through the butterflies on both, with Harry a Ravenclaw.

they are in the "Kinsfire" stage of development, and I still need to flesh it out before presenting. the SG1 crossover one (which is the one i'll focus on more) is mostly on the Stargate universe than the HP one, which is proving to be a challenge since i havent watched all the seasons.

 

Don't really get a chance to watch stargate here so I can comment on the first plot bunny.

But the second plot sounds like a copy of Knowledge is Power.

Anyway, I am not really good at writing. Especially in English since it is not my native language, but I have an idea for a Dark Harry with H/F pairing. Fleur could be Voldemort spy in the Tri-Wizard Tournament. This would explain why she made a terrible performance in the tournament because she needs to make sure that Harry win.

Veela may not be as light as everyone make them to be. They could be look down upon by the Ministry of Magic like Werewolves and Vampires. Voldemort then promise them the same thing that he promise Fenrir Grayback. So Fleur is send here as Voldemort agent to make sure that Harry gets to the cup first by any mean necessary. So she get close to him and give him hints on mission (Like what Moody did) and in the same time start developing feeling for him.

After this, it could either be that Fleur turn to the light side because of her feeling for him or Harry turn to the dark side because of his feeling for her.

 

been looking for that for a long time. mine was inspired by that, but has a different premise, with all the Marauders and Lily dead, Harry in an orphange, and unlike KiP not Uber uncaring harry who is thawed by Fleur. still considering making him religous or not, among numerous other things. comptent! BWL! Neville, Flitwick as a mentor to Harry, and finally psychotic appearing! Hufflepuffs.

Hi, i'm jake, long time lurker first time poster, and massive fan of the Harry/Fleur ship. but back on that religious Harry point, has anyone considered a voodoo practitioner harry crack fic? if so, a pointer would be appreciated.

Trust me, its not HARD! Almost every single fic uses the same kind of magic, it makes you want to find a noose of rope.

Vodoo idea is interesting, could make it a horror/comedy, those always balance each other out.

I swear I had better not see another fic that tries to combine magic and science in the most or so help me I am going to give a really BAD review.

 

I actually think keeping the magic system in place makes sense. Certainly, different spells and new content is desirable, but I always appreciate staying within the scope of Harry Potter magic, otherwise I find it is easy to go overboard.

For example, I see no need for a spell to kill better than the Killing Curse, control better than the Imperius Curse or torture better than the Cruciatus Curse. Those are the best in their categories, and I don't see why they would be unused for those purposes, if it fits the storyline.

I do agree with you about science and magic. The two simply don't match in my mind. And I would hate for Harry to get the new iPod to go with his slick new Intel Core Macbook.

 

I agree with keeping science out of magic, but i have to disagree with methene on the 3 curses. I find the AK curse an unbelievably unimaginative dark way to kill someone. If i was evil and i wanted to kill someone with magic i'd look for a spell thats similar to (please excuse anime reference) fist of the north star. Ok i understand that the book series was aimed at kids originally but whats wrong with
