Lively, for sure, she looks exactly like I would envision Fleur, I just don't find Poesy attractive, at all.

    O yar ?

Yeesh, you guys will take anything, won't you? To avoid completely threadjacking, I'll link to all of the important reasons why my Fleur fap material is better than yours. I'm not saying any one of them should have been Fleur, but those in charge of casting should've had them in mind - and clearly did not.

Or maybe they were thinking of...well....you know (NSFW)

    /derail, back to Harry/Fleur...

Well, perhaps Snape has a point when he describes Harry Potter... The boy does have a big head... O_0

Poesy looks decent in that one picture.

Lively looks hot in pretty much every picture I found.

If we're basing it off of only looks - and I am - then Lively wins. If anything, Poesy looks more like a young Gabrielle.

I think they chose her because she has a sort of avian quality to her face, which reflects on Fleur's veela-ness.

You might have a point, although I didn't even think of it until you mentioned it. Though, if you compare the picture you used and the earlier ones of her in a non hp related setting you'll see a clear difference. Make-up can complete miracles.

In that case, might I suggest Leelee Sobieski? Her features have that thin, sharpness that could definitely reflect on an avian form.

I can't really make up my mind as to whether she'd be a good Fleur or not. I was watching Night Train last night and as her character was blonde, I was considering it. I'm not sure. What do you guys think?

Lively would have the better Fleur than Posey, but Leelee would definitely made a hot Fleur. Kate Bosworth would made a decent Fleur too.

Forget fucking Kate Bosworth, Rocket_runner fucking nailed it. She is hot, definitely hotter than Poésy. Not to mention she has the "avian quality" that Poésy has with the whole "Fleur make-up". Beats the hell out of both Lively and Poésy without contest regarding the Fleur part.

    Poesy.

Sorry, but Lively just... She's pretty but I just don't think I'd be able to pick her out of a crowd of other pretty blonds. She's... generic, for want of a better term.

Poesy has a different look and, yes, I think she looks much more European than Lively.

I think Poesy's attractive, but I don't think they used her looks to very good effect in GoF. Then again, she didn't exactly have a big part, either.

Not to start a debate, but there's nothing to indicate Fleur is a supernatural stunner like full veela, either. Yeah, monkeys like Ron trip over their tongues around her, but Harry seems unaffected, while he was affected by the full veela at the World Cup (or maybe they just caught him off guard, whatever).

    Most importantly though...

    Lively's from Motherfucking CALIFORNIA.

The Potter casting directors only chose actors who were from wherever they were supposed to be from. Thus, Fleur is played by a French actress, Harry Potter is a Brit, and we aren't subjected to someone trying to fake an accent like Kevin Costner in Robin Hood. People STILL bitch about that one, even though they couldn't really give two shits about the movie itself.

So it would never happen. Ever.

The few Americans that were cast are transplants from the UK.

Kate Bosworth's in the same boat as Lively: Californian, American looking (don't ask, she just is)... though she at least has a unique look... and heterochromia.

Sobieski is at least a little closer to the mark. Born in New York, but lives in France and speaks the language. She did play Joan of Arc. :) I still don't think she's better for the role than Poesy, though.

Fuck, I leave for four days and come back somewhat smashed only to find that four pages of Harry/Fleur discussion have happened while I've left...

I'll PM you the details about this soon - just let me sober up and get some fucking sleep.

I'm probably not going with a pairing in Renegade Cause, after a fucking ton of reflection (and rye...well, I was at a wedding, and the alcohol was free, so whatever), only because I've pretty much plotted out the rest of the fic and frankly, I don't think it'll fit well with the plot.

And that sequel to Silence Game (tentatively titled 'Millennium Game') is in the works. Similar style to the first story, and I'm hoping to do some major improvements on the smut. Only question remains... threesome?

    Stay tuned...

Warlocke just said it - none of the girls' pictures attached in previous posts were actually European looking girls. And yes, there is quite big difference in the face features, mannerism and over all behavior between girls born in the states and those from the old continent.

Besides Fleur has Veela blood, and since the idea of Veelas is coming from the Slavic folklore and mythology about Samodivi, I dunno why they have missed in the english article that it is said that they are usually blonde, one should perhaps look at girls with more Slavic origins. Especially if the Veela traits are dominant. And I'm definitely not trying to start, yet another, discussion on how much of Veela Fleur is and whether the "Veela gene" exists at all.... O_0

So we are pretty much looking after girl from the eastern parts of Europe. She has to be beautiful, of course... aaannnddd don't forget the platinum blonde hair. One more thing would be - Fleur is supposedly in her late teen years... Jessica Simpson is near her thirties O_0

    edit:
I was to say- "you can't do that to me mate... you can't. I've been waiting way too long for proper written honks action" but then you can and you will if it doesn't fit your ideas.
Nevertheless, I'm still going to be silently rooting for Harry/Tonks pairing there, because frankly I want to see it done right for once and you are so far on the right track there.

Of course there could always be a sequel where all the foreplay between the two finally gets them somewhere. Perhaps it will be even more believable that way, but that said nothing stands on the way to include some scenes where the two need a bit more close physical presence than normal... O_0

Hmmm.... all of the girls you posted are pretty for sure, but nothing special. I would never remember anyone of them as beautiful or anything because they simply are not. There are at least one million girls out there with that kind if looks.

Poésy isn´t hawt, however, he has some kind of charm to her and, best of all, SHE CAN FUCKING ACT! Not that we saw much of that in HP, but in the other movies she´s done she is really good.

I mean, you can count the good actors in HP on one hand; Luna, Snape, Umbridge, Voldemort and that´s it.

Leelee Sobieski in the pic posted works as a Fleur candidate. However, I took a peek at some others on Google and barely saw any recognition to a Fleur-ish type look - or at least the one I've created.

Poesy, while not as pretty, is a decent option for Fleur. She could be better, especially given how she looks topless from that nude in scene in that French movie. Yet, it could've been much worse.

I'd like to add the original Dumbledore. He may have been soft, as someone has already said, but he played the grandfather-ish mentor type perfectly.

Mannerism and behaviour? Acting. And while there might be some difference in facial features regarding the US/Euro girls, there is enough similarity to argue that they overlap in many cases.

While I don't think Poésy is particularly attractive, this is probably why I'm unsatisfied with the film Fleur to begin with. Of course I'm quite biased in my desire to see more of Fleur in the movies, as I'm an admitted Fleur fanboy.

During the first meal that the foreign students eat in Hogwarts during GoF, not only Ron is affected by her. The book states that many boys watched her as she walked through the Great Hall, and that some of them were as stunned as Ron. While she may not be as "powerful" as full veelas, she certainly still has some semblance of the "Veela Charm".

Seems to be pretty perfect imo. You didn't specify why you think Poésy would be better than Sobieski and I'm curious. Why?

Yes, I admit that the pictures you get while googling Sobieski isn't particularly reminiscent to Fleur, but you should keep in mind that it's without the whole movie make-up. It makes a world of difference.
