I considered that, but it's awfully tricksy.

There have, however been hints that the Doctor travels across his own time stream later (The man-shaped shadow in the pilot, the warning he gives Amy when she's infected with the Angel spirit), so it's very possible that he himself is behind the entire plot, and that he arranged to be placed in the Pandorica at that exact moment for whatever reason.

It could also explain why he's the only "higher being" in the universe who doesn't know about the Pandorica. He hid it from himself.

    EDIT:

On that note, could the duck pond without any ducks be a TARDIS under a perception field/chameleon circuit?

I like it. Doubt that gonna happen but it would be interesting twist. It would also explain why they didn't just kill the Doctor. Seriously, it was like only real chance they have ever to take him dawn for good and they chose to lock him up?

Remember who we're dealing with here. Start throwing around ideas about exactly who gets to kill the Doctor, and this very frayed and tenuous alliance could break into a shooting war over the honor.

Besides, Time Lords do funny things when they die. The Doctor has died ten times already, and it hasn't slowed him down. Best not to risk it.

    Makes sense.

Also I just realized another thing. They showed us face of first Doctor so many times this season that it must be some clue, but I'm not sure about what.

That episode = epic win. Seriously, I genuinely loved it; best finale so far. I was a little dubious about it after the huge scale of last week, but Moffat played a blinder. Clever, dramatic, emotional and laugh out loud funny at times. There were some bits that bugged me, but they were largely fanboy things
like the Dalek asking for mercy - no. Just no. Especially when it isn't even the Doctor threatening it
    so I can forgive it.

Definitely one of the best episodes this series, it's going to be torturous waiting for the Christmas Special.

Really good finale, but didn't answer all questions I have. Still they probably left it for next season.

Wonder who is mysterious enemy who destroyed TARDIS and I really hope it's not the Master. Someone more original please. Also it seems we will see more of River Song and finally discover who she is to the Doctor. All in all, we have something to wait for.

And Dalek asking for mercy? It seems these new Daleks are sissies not just because of their colour choices.

    And Dalek asking for mercy?

I thought that was interesting because it only asked after it had checked its Data Bank for River Song, really makes you wonder who exactly she is.

    Also

The scene where the box opens and Amy is inside, and goes 'hey kid , this is where it gets complicated'

    Best bloody scene ever.

It's a little strange that somehow she is worse in the Dalek's eyes than the Doctor? That will have to be handled extremely well so it doesn't end up sucking.

    EDIT: ninja'd

I genuinely did not see that coming. My jaw didn't quite hit the floor, but yeah...

    As for the
Dalek asking for mercy, yes, it's interesting that it only asked after it looked up River Song, but seriously? I'll admit I'm not word perfect on the show, and I'm sadly lacking in pre-revival knowledge, but has a Dalek ever asked the Doctor - aka the Oncoming Storm - for mercy? Quite apart from it not really being a Dalek thing, as I understand it, this was the first time I've ever come close to agreeing with the fans who say that River is a Mary Sue. Although, speculation: we don't see her kill it. And in the next scene, where Rory and Amy are looking for the Doctor, the dialogue goes something like this:
"But he was dead!" "Who told you that?" "He did..." "Rule one; the Doctor lies." "What happened to the Dalek?" "It died." Probably my overheated fanboy brain reading too much into it, but leapt out at me. Given that plotlines are carrying on into next season, this could come back. I'll shut up now.

EDIT 2: Rory is the man. Pure and simple.

I totally love rory now. He is epic literally. He was legend and myth protecting a mysterious box through time and space.

opening the pandorica and Amy line to Amy, my head near exploded in ecstacy at the brilliance of the line..

The entire plotlineof the time travel and alternate timeline history in this not quite universe....

Theories, subplots, creativity! This is why I love the new series.

Now there is officially nothing good on TV

New Theory, river song is the doctors first companion, his grand daughter. All those inuendos are red herrings to make us think its an old fling.

Though at the end of this episode I was starting to think Amy was River.

..Am I the only one who thought this episode was cheap compared to the previous one?

Probably. I didn't like the set-up much but the payoff was great. I knew about a bunch of the things beforehand, but the way it ended up still managed to throw me off.

And Rory in the tardis at the end came completely out of left-field. He previously denied being asked to stay for Season 6.

The way Moffat tied together the traditional wedding theme (old, new, borrowed, blue) was amazing. I also liked how the villain wasn't revealed at all - and the "Silence Will Fall" voice, the story with River, and the phone call all being used to hook into the next season.

Maybe it's the major lack of sleep talking, but isn't the Doctor escaping the Pandorica is a paradox?

    Wibbily-wobbily, timey-whimey.

It's Doctor Who. You gotta expect things like that.

Great episode, spoiled only slightly by:

Amy saving the Doctor basically by clapping her hands, ala Tinkerbell. Made bearable by awesome dialog.

Dalek asking for mercy doesn't bother me nearly as much as Daleks being turned into Power Rangers. I could see a helpless Dalek asking for mercy, if it perceived that as the best chance to survive.

    Best line of the season.

River: What in the name of sanity do you have on your head?
Doctor: It's a fez. I wear a fez now. Fezes are cool.

I can't help but keep imagining how awkward the wedding scene would be without the doctor showing up.

    Loved that episode.
But I was kinda hoping they would tell us who the true enemy was in this episode.Since they're saving him for an entirely new season, im hoping it turns out to be a new and dangerous one.

Only thing i disliked was how Rory turned out to be the security guard. I thought it was just beautiful, like "true love" or something, how he gave himself up to keep the Pandorica safe but it just ruined it for me when it showed he was still alive.

I thought the whole going back through his timeline was the best scene. Just destroying the theory behind the alternate doctor. Plus was pretty sad

I'm just going to throw this out there but didn't Davros also say Silence will Fall? he wanted to destroy everything and it did sound like his voice.
