Well, maybe. Remember who he's appealing to: Readers at FF.net.
In other words, half the people he told to subscribe just unsubd. We're standing between them and their superhawt Harry/Draco buttsecks, you see. Never a good place to stand. It smells bad. Far too close to the unwashed masses.

Yeah, that was sort of my first thought as well. 'Wait, this is ff.net... wouldn't that just make some people unsubscribe to obtain the slash?'

But then I realized that the majority of people that want to see those two together wouldn't be reading Joe's work in the first place, and all was fine.

We don't need even half of the ff.net gaybuttsecks lovers - only enough to get the C2 to 9001.

    A reviewers reply:

Know how I know you're gay, Joe? You have H/D soul bonding fans reading your work. :awesome

(I had to say it before the nigger did)

I hope to God that that reviewer was trolling. My mind can't consider the other options as possible. It'll explode from the fail.

I'm calling troll on the reviewer because his/her post was suspiciously literate for a slash fan.

Once more people confuse "Has their own opinion" with "troll". :/

Least it's not in the intro thread this time.

Seriously, just because someone likes reading slash and isn't a 12 year old idiot doesn't mean they can't exist. I know for a fact that we have quite a few people here on DLP who enjoy reading slash, but just don't talk about it due to how much we hate it.

I think you're missing the part where he said that there are good HP/DM Soul Bonding fics.

The horribleness of this concept is not up to a matter of opinion.

This is something that has really pissed me off in the past. Ellisande, we all know what troll means. It is almost never misused. When someone calls troll, it's because they think the person is intentionally trying to piss people off.

Every time the word troll is used, you say that we're misusing it. None of us are. Ever.

I personally don't think they were trolling, but that doesn't make it any less retarded that they seriously considered the possibility of Wastelands or its sequel becoming a H/D soulbond story.

There are a few good slash fics. There are not any good Soul Bond fics which are not parodies, including - no, especially - heterosexual ones.

May I ask why "The Innocence Of Guilt" is considered a 5/5 story? I read it, and I guess I don't get the humor. The super!harry protagonist, the secondary characters, the plot... It has lots of problems I can only overlook in a crack fic, but I wasn't laughing.

So, is it me, or are those votes from people who read the first chapters a long time ago, when standards were different?

Why not ask that question in the actual story thread?

Some stories are in the library for historic reasons. It doesn't mean they have to be in the C2. The C2 is after all DLP's public face, we want to put our best foot forward, etc.

What I was really asking was: do the people who manage the C2 add everything from the library that's rated above 4.5 or do they use judgement? Because I'm in favor of judgement. I'm also in favor of aging out votes that are more than X months old (12, 24, whatever) so a story would have to get new high ratings to stay in the library for years (after your vote has been aged out you can re-rate a story).

I personally really enjoy "The Innocence of Guilt", though I am not 100% sure of how much it should be in the DLP C2.

Tbh though, I'm happy with it in there, but would be happy with it out of there too.

What's with the freezing of the subscriber amount number? Its remained the same for several days now. Almost like the ff mods are trying to sabotage us.
