    Seasons getting better and better.
Episode was a bit slow. But Bobby made up for it "Please don't say 'Here's Johnny'". Looks like Balthazar is the main issue this season.

You know, Dean sure is a hostile, disrespectful little fuck whenever he talks to motherfucking Death himself.

Like, even I noticed. I'm surprised Death doesn't backhand him into the floor.

    FOR BLAISE!

The writers are clearly painting a picture where Dean becomes elevated to Death's equal, which can only mean one thing.

He will become the Master of the Deathly Hallows!

Loved this episode. Tessa has always been one of my favorite characters and Dean as Death has been great. Killing those who deserve it is easy, much harder to kill those who don't.

And seems the angels are going to be more present in the oncoming episodes, with supposedly Balthazar as the next big bad, although, I do have my doubts on it. Maybe Balthazar is just one of those who are hunting for souls right now, and we still have the issue of purgatory.

Is this going to be the last season, by the way, or will they make more?

    Awesome episode.

    Death. That is all.

Oh, and I'm mentally comparing Soulless Sam to Angelus - he's great fun until he starts trying to murder other characters, and the immediate brooding that follows afterwards is not going to be too fun. But still, Death.

Great episode. Tessa ties with Bella and Joe as my three favorite female characters on Supernatural, and the other two are dead, so I'll take what I can get.

Death is Boss. I have no idea who's playing him, but he is fucking excellent. Which is par for Supernatural casting choices, really.

The only gripe so far about this season that's holding up is that we don't have a clear picture of who's the big bad, which is in its own way something similar to season 1's situation and sort of a good thing for the season as we peel back the layers of mystery. It could easily have been Crowley, but he's dead, and that leaves Raphael, Balthazar (Charmed, anyone?), Meg (possibly Queen of Hell now) and Samuel.

Samuel's human, so I don't see much coming from him besides a late-season redemption when he rides in with those red-shirt Hunters at best, using Meg would be a weak follow-up to the thus far strong showing from Hell in terms of Azazel, Crowley, Ruby and Lilith, while Raphael/Balthazar would bring us back to angels as an opposing faction, except now they're the real one instead of it being centered around a Michael/Lucifer conflict.

So, my (easily destroyable) conclusion for a possible season big bad is this:

Raphael will win the war in heaven, and decide to restart the Apocalypse. A coalition of demons, hunters and Castiel and his loyalists (if they don't all get killed by Raphael early on) will resist them. Balthazar will either stand aloof, be a third faction in control of Purgatory's resources and his bought souls (for a seventh season), or ally with the anti-angel coalition should Castiel get whacked out of loyalty to his friend.

    wat

The whole premise of the show seems to be ridiculous.

Also, I'm watching a trailer, and the dead brother is going on about "how WE'RE going to get HIS soul back". Maybe he should get off his ass and do it himself instead of lazily fuckin' the dog while his brother does it while taking half the credit.

    See Jon:

And on that note, the original actress for Meg appealed to me more. Something about her made her seemed innocent, which combined with demon made it all the more jarring when she went black-eyed and was a secret fount of evil. New one makes me think of a biker chick.

That scene in which Sam ... invokes? ... Balthazar really worked for me. They were so - I don't know the right descriptor - ruthless? Practical? A lot alike, in fact. Also: Balthazar said that the spell was "free." Then he said that he liked the idea of Sam owing him - but the original agreement was that the spell is free. No charge, no obligation would be the way *I* read that.

Had Sam done anything really evil yet? I don't remember him having committed any murders or rapes. At least until the attempted patricide. Although he did kill Meg's henchman that time.

Death saying something about "it's all about all those souls" implies that maybe the Alpha was right about Purgatory.

Death is excellent at commanding respect. Dean's reflexive "Don't give a shit" attitude doesn't fly At All with that one. And, man, he really knows how to drive a lesson home, doesn't he?

Question of terminology: "Dean Reaped" -did he Reap them, or what exactly did he do? Tessa lead each one away, but I'm pretty sure that the act of Reaping is removing the soul from the body and killing the body, and Dean did that.

The freshly Reaped souls looked like their bodies. But we've seen other souls - and they were simply bright lights. Is it a matter of the length of time that they've been separated?

I'm wondering: WAS Crowley actually the one who got Sam out of the Cage and Samuel out of wherever he was? Crowley said he did it, but demons lie. Has there been any hints that someone (Someone) else might have pulled most of a man out of the worst place imaginable, leaving his soul and another victim behind? After all, hell is full of people who would jump at the chance to serve Crowley on earth. Why pull someone out of THERE? It can't have been fun or easy.

I've been wondering how they were going to deal with what is happening with Adam. Sam is the more immediately urgent problem, but the issue of Adam will have to be handled. Girl moment - I'd like a different actor to play Adam. This one isn't up to the show's standard of eye candy.

Is it just me or do the hunters in supernatural have a spell for everything? Remember Pamela, whose eyes were burned by simply trying to 'see' Castiel. I get that the Angels are roaming on earth now, but that doesn't means that they are handing out flyers on how to summon your favourite angel. And if Sam can summon Balthazar just like that, why the fuck was he whining about Castiel not answering his prayers?

EDIT: Also, how is it that most spells require nothing more than a few tea-leaves, a little bit of fire and a chant? I mean, summoning an angel, even a banished one, should have at least a sacrifice or something (yes, I know that sacrificing stuff is mostly in Demon ritual, but work with me here. The bad-guys spells keep getting more and more awesome while the good-guy spells keep getting tamer)

Also, banner: Remember Lucifer Rising. Sam killed that nurse when he needed to drink demon blood. Technically the demon was still in the girl, but she was conscious, and I think that would count as doing evil.

There's a big difference between being a boss and ordering someone to be there on the spot vs. asking or begging a friend for help.
