I'm clearing out stuff for my castle

The little house in the background is where I'm making my glass and stone.
Atm it's 128x128, it will be bigger though. I think I'll make the main castle 256x256. I've not made up my mind yet. I've mined so much stone... I've used 28 diamond, 132 iron, and a 230 stone pickaxes, and around 600 stone shovels. Clickmining is win.

Recently, whenever I try to use a texture besides the default, my Minecraft crashes. And when I log back in it shows the Mojang logo and then freezes and shuts down. I can fix this by deleting my .minecraft folder, but I'd like to use my texture packs.

    Can anyone help?

Did you make sure your texture was compatible with 1.4?

To start off, I should probably ask what texture packs you've tried, and their resolution. Many 64x64 packs and up break after updates, and need to be patched.

Since I'm modded, I'm still playing on 1.3, so aside from a weird April Fools joke that fucked up my display until I made it April 2nd, I haven't had to deal with anything.

Yeah, I tried both. A 1.3 texture pack (JoliCraft) and a 1.4 texture pack (Grid). Same results. I'm not sure about JoliCraft but Grid is supposed to be 64 x 64.

Probably the problem. 1.4 introduced a few new textures. (Cookies, wolves...)

64 x 64 requires you to use the texture fixer, doesn't it? Pretty sure it hasn't been updated (until maybe now). It took until yesterday for Zombe's mod back to be updated, but 99% of the mods probably weren't updated until today.

You said until maybe now. So I checked.

    Hence my comment.

Hey, I'm trying to connect to the server and I'm getting a message saying it's outdated. Is that a problem on my end, or something everyone's getting?

The server hasn't been updated yet to 1.4 server. Its still running 1.3 so thats why you're getting that message.

Delete everything Minecraft (bin folder, etc) off your computer, and redownload the app again.

You don't need to re-download it. Just delete the Minecraft folder in the Appdata folder and run the game.

Or at least that's how I've been doing it. Couldn't be fucked to download it again otherwise. >.>

Didn't work. Apparently tons of other people have been having the same problem and there's no fix yet.
