The first ten minutes just blew my mind. I just hope we will see what is all about in this season, even if it will be the second part of it.

I already like these new aliens. They are interesting and creepy.

Well I loved it. Yes, it was mostly set-up, but it was brilliant set-up and the pay off will no doubt be awesome, and as far as cliffhangers go, it works. It was a solid opener, setting up a hook immediately and introducing the big bad guys right away, not to mention answering a question or two and teasing even more.

The first ten minutes or so, to quote Celestin, blew my mind. I didn't see any of it coming, and I'm not entirely sure how things will go from here - if the death of the Doctor will be reset button'd at the end of this two-parter or the end of this season, but it was still a very effective way to start a season. Gotta say that rewatching the first bit made things a lot cooler in hindsight - like the Doctor's speech about running. And if he ran for two-hundred years before going for his death... Hmm.

On a lighter note, one of my favourite lines of the night: "We're from Scotland Yard. My codename is The Doctor. Over there's The Legs, The Nose, and Mrs Robinson."

Oh, and Mark Sheppard was great, as usual.

I can't help but wonder why Rory and Amy were seperated from the Doctor for so long. That seems like one of those unimportant questions that will be revisited later on as important.

Usually the doctor's standard routine is to pick em up, and as soon as some independent seperation is needed he cuts and runs to find his new companion. Not this time. Or was that what he was trying to do...

    Also the aliens were :awesome

Is what rory and what Amy are wearing similar to what the future rory and amy were wearing when they did the Hungry Earth story last season?

underground tunnels around the world, advanced digging tech...

Also when the visor went up, did any one else get vasta nerada flash backs

"Hey! Who turned out the lights?"

I noticed that who or whatever the Silence are... they've not only got their own evil TARDIS(?), but they're rebuilding(?) the 2005 TARDIS (?) - looks a bit of familiar, n'est-ce pas? Also as well too, the TARDIS is "alive" (and a genie, herpaderp, granting wishes for Rose and the Slitheen), hence the gooey organic bits?
    ^ Spoilers. ;)

    "Brave heart, Canton."

EDIT: TROLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL <--- More spoilers, but roflwtf is that shit srs.

Actually, I think the theory that the child is River Song, who's parents end up being either Amy or Amy's descendant to be intriguing if not a plausible theory.

Will repeat what seems to be the DLP consensus of the episode- it was great, I loved it, some small points that I'd nitpick if DW wasn't like crack to me, and dear god, do I look forward to next week's payoff.

In other news, the extended trailer for next week's episode is fantabulous.

And a couple of previews for the ep, "Day of the Moon": Clip 1 and Clip 2.

"This world is ours, Doctor!" :awesome

So it looks like the Silence are secretly running the world since nearly forever, and claim Earth as 'their planet'. Since they edit themselves out of your memory as soon as you look away, the Doctor+companions mark their skin every time they have an encounter.

Pretty fucking awesomely creepy, the second clip.

I fucking love these new aliens. Signs are pointing towards the Doctor having to become a revolutionary of Earth again, just like with Ten, and it'll force Matt Smith to delve into the dark, gritty side of the Doctor. This is great because it's undoubtedly his weakest point - he's too much humor and not enough tragedy and rage.

Matt Smith fucking learns, man. You can literally see the improvement from his first showing.

I'm dying waiting for Day of the Moon. I have to see the Eleventh's reaction to sweet little Amy Pond shooting a little girl right in front of him. He's not going to be able to snark his way out of this one.

    (THE) SILENTS WILL FALL :awesome

That isn't really making sense to me anymore?

I mean when someone says something will fall to me it is either a drop due to gravity, or someone lost something whether it be a reputation or literally lost a country or empire, which seems to be case here. So why a prophecy that these new aliens will lose if they are indeed the Silence, and why is that a bad thing for the doctor?

Or am i just over thinking shit it just means the silence falls over earth or something?

Im not so sure about that. The scene in The Pandorica Opens when he addresses the ships was great.

Great episode. Cant wait to see what happens with the Silence.

Best DW episode I've ever seen. Although, take that with a grain of salt - I only really got into it once David Tennant started up, and missed a lot of those series as well. Regardless, I thought it was a fantastic return to form from the writers, and I cannot wait to see the conclusion. I hope they can keep it up with this kind of intensity for the rest of the series, too.

That's my interpretation, based on the new evidence. Although across the entire universe, based on the cracks etc last season.

My favorite part has to be when he and the guys were in the Tardis after he received the card. That whole scene, with the quiet anger, and then what he said to River. You can almost see her heart breaking a little. That was a little creepy. I would love to see what would happen it Eleven ran into the Time Lords instead of Ten.

If the scream he gave is any indication Amy's got some 'splaining to do. So much for the secret of his death being kept secret, she's probably giving that up to justify her actions.

As for the most important thing in the episode- the Doctor dying- hopefully it's not permanent. Even if it is 200 years into the future. I generally love the tricks they play with time travel- especially with River Song (before I realised that the version of her I first saw was after she had actually matured and gone beyond irritating smiles and whispers of "spoilers") - so I'm sure they will find some way to use this in some way idunknowhow. But I can't see BBC ending this show soon. I'm betting the Doctor is just trolling again.

No kidding, I was trying to guess who she was, I never expected that and I most definitely didn't expect regeneration from her.

But it is always good when we have more time lords. :)

But now it begs to question on whether or not we can create time lords from putting pregnant women in the TARDIS, if she is indeed Amy's daughter. And what was the Silence doing in the first episode if they were all hunted/killed during the 60/70's.

All in all, good episode and I look forward to seeing the Silence and the girl again.

    I'm sorry, but WHAT!?

The little girl's a fucking Time Lady.

    Also,

    "Apollo 11's your secret weapon?"
"No, no, it's not Apollo 11, that would be silly. It's Neil Armstrong's foot."

    :awesome
