I will dub her Schrodingers Baby because of the tardis scanner.
Does this mean that the doctor has just ordered the human race to eliminate a species through hypnosis? Thats pretty bad ass and out of character.
Also is the Tardis the same one that landed in the lodger?
And I almost forgot, this scene.... it has a whole new meaning now. I want to see the silence again with the S.Baby?
Is the Spaceman a concious entity in itself?

How will Amy have the doctors S.Baby? Probably through the use of some timelord science lost to the ages. I will call it a Birthing Matrix!
Time lords are too good for Sexy Time. Too Civilised to go balls deep.

I kind of thought I missed something when I was watching it. Might be an obvious and stupid question, but
how did they defeat the Silence?

A very good episode. Few thoughts:

    - I feel sad for River. From her perspective it's almost the end of her relationship with Doctor.
    - Is S.Baby also the Time Lord girl? A little too obvious, but we will see.
    - What Rory doesn't remember from his 2000 years of living?
    - What is a meaning of the weirdest scene in DW after 2005 - "No, I think she's just dreaming." Seriously, it was probably the most important scene in this episode and we know nothing about it.

The Silence use hypnotic suggestion to influence you- once you look away, you don't remember ever seeing them, but you're going to follow their orders, without questioning why.

So, The Doctor implanted footage of a Silent saying that the Doctor and his buddies are on the 'kill on sight' list into the Apollo moon landing. Since it's only a short clip of a Silent with a voice over of "Kill on sight", it'll be understood to everybody who watched the footage to "Kill a Silent on sight".

    Pretty contrived, IMO.

Also, what the fuck at the last clip. 0_0

    This. So much.

    @Lutris: Thank you for explaining.

And the last clip was freaking awesome. So much potential.

Oh, by the way, calling it: The S.baby is the Master escaping from the time lock.

This. In fact, I thought most of the episode was derp.

They have the super duper totally-not-the-Pandorica prison that no particle of anything can ever get in or out of (oxygen ftw).

They have the evil TARDIS which they could totally have expanded on but totally didn't, and to top it off THEY JUST IGNORED IT AFTERWARDS.

They have the homo promos which I had hoped would have left with the not-too-soon departure of Russell T. Davies. (In case you didn't catch it, Canton wants to marry a black dude. Oh, JBlaise...)

And they have the Time Tot, which has completely defeated the purpose of killing off all the Time Lords. For the second time. That's the thing about off-screen deaths. They may or may not actually happen. Just like on-screen deaths.

So yeah. Big load o' derp. I'm actually really disappointed in the conclusion of that episode; it could have been so much better, and turned out to be more of the same stuff from two series ago.

And... cut to your whining and shitty rebuttals.

I am so very confused by...everything, I think. I really enjoyed it, but o_O Going to rewatch later, which might lead to more coherent thoughts.

Just gotta ask...were you really expecting it all the to resolved in those episodes? Really?

No, but I expected it to be unresolved better. Just leaves a TARDIS (at least, a very powerful piece of alien technology) in an American suburb, unguarded. HERE YOU GO, NIXON. And that's the only thing that was really unresolved. The rest of my qualms were about plot points.

I thought the episode was fairly good, but I didn't like

how they defeated the Silence. It seemed very out of character for the Doctor to commit genocide when it seemed like other options hadn't really been tried (although I have to say, it was impressively badass). Also, his complete acceptance of River shooting and killing them, while in the past he's been strongly opposed to killing, even in self-defense, seems really odd. Granted, most of the examples I'm thinking of are the Tenth Doctor, but that seems like a really major change for just one regeneration.

However, I definitely like the fact that it seems this season is going to have a more defined story arc than others. That seems pretty cool.

The Doctor isn't really above genocide. If he could do it to his own people, he can do it to others.

So Amy's pregnancy is in flux. What do you think it means? Is it not yet certain that it happened? What happens with a Time Lord pregnancy? Something the Silence did?

I wonder about that faux TARDIS. This is the second time it has showed up then forgotten about. Anyone else thinking that the Silence gave it the same forgetting power that they have?

The Doctor committed genocide against his own people because the alternative was worse – dunno if it's ever been explicitly stated, but it's definitely been implied that if someone hadn't stopped the Time War, the universe would have been destroyed. Also, he still feels horribly guilty about that. The way he did it in Day of the Moon was almost casual, which is why it seemed so out of character for me. In the entire episode, he never showed the respect for life that he generally does. He doesn't even show the anger he feels when dealing with the Daleks, its more like he just doesn't care.

Meh. Just seemed really odd to me, but maybe it's just my take on things.

I have to agree with you on that front. It seemed very OOC to me. Not that I don't enjoy his new take on things - any move towards being more badass is always good - but it was a rather abrupt shift. Maybe they'll provide some kind of explanation in future episodes. Perhaps he has a particular grudge against one race controlling the actions of another without the latter knowing.

It's a pure speculation, but what if forgetting about the Silence was a reason why the Doctor didn't seem to have problem with killing them all. He never had a chance to think about them as a living beings, only an enemy of human race. It'd also mean that their greatest weapon doomed them twice.
