It's a pity that they didn't address the fact that Dean simply killed the Phoenix because it was a monster and that they needed the ashes.

Dean was pretty much being Dean until he heard the story of what that bastard had done to the Phoenix (btw that came out of fucking nowhere, wut?). I had more of a problem with the fact that he explicitly stated that he was going to kill it simply because he was a Phoenix... hadn't we gone over this 4 seasons ago?

Which was just one of the many gripes I had about these last two episodes.

Ever since the alternate universe episode with Sam and Dean waking up as Jared and Jensen I had been worried that the show was getting a little bit self-indulgent- even more so that usual actually- and the episode 18 seemed to be created simply to have an excuse to have Dean have a gun duel with the Colt.

Also: Didn't Cas reach in to touch Sam's soul? Wut? Maybe he suspected that Sam had no soul, but still, in hindsight it looks just fucking terrible. If there was even the smallest chance of him blowing up one of the two humans who meant anything to him I just can't see him taking it. Then again, he has become an asshole.

As for episode 19, the chick who plays Eve is weak (but so hot), she's always been weak, it's probably why Eve was played by the chick who does Sam and Dean's mother for most of the episode. But her death was a huge anti-climax, removed in favor of this arms-race between Castiel and the rarely-present Raphael. That's now been proven to be the main story now yet we see so little of it.

 

Just another example of the poor plotting and self congratulatory mess that this season has sadly become. It had such potential...

I got interrupted four times this episode. ONE hour a week - and not even half the total weeks in a year - and the family always has something that simply can't wait.

Not being able to correctly use a web page that is presumably designed for ease of use is So Damn Embarrassing. God that makes me feel old.

Next week is the Smallville 2 hour series finale and the week after is 2 hours of Supernatural.

I was just thinking (I'm feeling blue) that I'm in the mood for a major AU of Supernatural. Is there a story in which Sam never left for college? When John told Sam that if he left, he would never be allowed back - what if Sam had stayed? I'm picturing a much more quiet Sam. A bitter one. A Sam with a see-monster=kill-monster response. Most particularly, I see a Sam who knows he gave up too much to please his father and brother.

Is there anything like that around?

Seriously, the Supernatural fandom has even more fucked up minds than the Harry Potter fandom and they only have a a couple thousand fics.

 

There's about 50,000 fics on FFN, the most for any tv show.

I agree that the fandom is extremely fucked up. It almost makes me embarrassed to admit I love this show.

 

Is it that many? Shit. I gave up searching that section of ffnet a looong time ago. You can't even get a decent crossover without slash.

 

Yeah, but then again, if there is one show with the most tension between male characters, its Supernatural. Considering the 'us against the world' attitude and emotional co-dependence the boys have, its easier than other fandoms to see the basis for that kind of thing.

That said, its still fucking disgusting. They're brothers for fucks sake.
