What I meant was there were only two ways I could see romance being incorporated into the game, not that there were two reasons as to why.

Of course many people will enjoy the new ways in which this will allow them to roleplay and I will be one of them most likely.

All that post meant was that I'm slightly comcerned about the how, not the why.

Also, I agree with Taure in that I often wished there were other avenues to victory in Oblivion. Climbing the social ladder to rule a city and wreck some shit with it's army was something I often wished was an option.

    Just realized something:
If they are removing Strength, how will your carrying capacity be calculated? Number of items is a bit problematic.

    Endurance seems most likely.

I don't think that they're actually removing strength and the other attributes, just making it so that the player doesn't decide what increases they get each level.

I can't believe Mount and Blade has been around for five years now and Bethesda still hasn't managed to implement horse mechanics half as good as a small indie studio.

That would be an interesting thing: Create dragons in Mount & Blade and try to recreate the fantasy stories.

    Le bump.

At Quakecon Todd Howard announced the collector's edition: a 'massive' concept art book, a big map, a making of dvd and a one foot tall dragon statuette.

    The price: $150. Fuck that.

Also, Howard confirmed that the Dark Brotherhood are back and showed those there a note (in game) which was a black hand with the words 'we know' on it. Must be the new recruitment method.

They're charging so much because they know that anyone who actually buys it will upload it to the net within minutes, so only those who are dedicated fans will actually buy the stuff (which is what they wanted in the first place).

I was waiting to preorder until the CE came out, but I am so not gonna shell out 150 bucks for some lame plastic statue.

It's a pretty bad deal, especially compared to better CEs like the Witcher 2's.

The collector's edition of Oblivion cost only ten bucks more than the regular version and had all of that except the statue. And it came with a Septim.

While it's a ridiculous price, at least I won't feel like I'm being conned out of actual game content with this release. Assuming they don't have another special edition/loads of DLC within a month or so.

The only way I'd pay $150 is if they included a code for all the DLC later. As it is that's way too high a price for a plastic statue.

$150? Fuck, for that price I'd expect the game, the map, the dvd's, the statue, the DLCs, both expansions, and remastered editions of both Oblivion and Morrowind with updated textures, models, and voice actors complete with every DLC and expansion for those.

I was confused as to why everyone was so up in arms about this, then I realized you guys pay like $60 for games. Weak. In Australia we pay $100 for a game, and like it!

Though seriously, I wouldn't pay that much for the CE, and I'm a massive fan of TES.

If the CE is 150 in America, it'll probably break a thousand in Australia.

Which is only half the usual markup.

HAHAHA. Even if I did have the money, I certainly as hell won't pay that much for a game, even if it was rated the best game of the century. Fuck that. No game is worth $150, imo.

    I dunno.

I'd love to buy the book by itself.
