Bullshit. The monster in his chest is an ALIEN. It will die only when Voldemort casts the killing curse, striking him in the chest just before the creature bursts forth, killing it and (ironically) saving Harry's life!

Wrong. It's a horcrux. After Voldemort's resurrection, the horcrux inside Harry is getting stronger, therefore able to inflict such feelings (as "monster in his chest that clawing inside"). Then, that horcrux eventually found another presence of horcrux in Hogwarts: Ginny Weasley. After those incident in the CoS, Riddle didn't really vanish - a very very little piece of his soul still remained in Ginny. It's different from the one in Harry, though: it's not become stronger. It's too small, too weak for doing its function as Voldemort's anchor in the world, but nevertheless it's still there. The two horcruxes make their hosts pull toward each other, in which Harry and Ginny - as teenagers - thought of it as 'love'.

Eventually, Voldemort's defeated, but the horcrux inside Ginny is still there. For years it resides inside Ginny, too weak to be able to do anything. Until, finally, the chance comes at last:

Ginny is pregnant for the second time. The horcrux, those very very little piece of Voldemort's soul, takes this chance. It wrestles control of the little fetus from its original soul, owning the body wholly. It gathers life power from Ginny, growing inside the womb, and eventually born to the world.

Here comes Albus Severus Potter, the green-eyed boy with innocent face, bullied by his brother and fearing Slytherin, sweet, and shy. Harry's favorite son in actuality is a little boy with knowledge, soul, and spirit of Voldemort in his prime. He watches, he acts, he waits, he does his part nicely, waiting for the right time to strike again, and finally, rule the world.

What about James Sirius. Wouldn't he be Riddle-reborn rather than Albus since he was the result of Ginny's first pregnancy?

You know all those fics where Harry goes back in time to kill Tom Riddle, instead having a change of heart and raising the little tyke?

How about this? Harry actually DOES kill him, but a teenage riddle just before he makes his first Horcrux. I'd envision it told from Riddles perspective as Harry stalks and torments him, finally brutally killing the teenager. It'd be a bit of a psychological thriller, (as such I could never write it) but I'd love to read something like this.

From Riddle's perspective. Now that would be awesome. It'd take a really great author to do this fic justice though. It's a good thing there's so many of them here at DLP.

 

I'd been very interested in some one writing this. It's definately a new take on a cliche. I like it.

 

I'm prettty sure that that's the plot to something that someone here wrote. Nuhuh? maybe? Something about a Dark Son.

But if it was, it would only mean that your plot bunnies are legit.

I have a plot bouncing around in my head based on all those stories where Harry was raised by someone else. Sirius, Remus, Grangers, Weasleys, whatever. Anyway I was thinking about Dumbledore. Why not? Dumbledore is the only one old Voldie feared (or so they say). Plus I think Harry might turn out interesting being raised by someone as strange as Dumbledore.

Maybe throw Luna in the mix for more slightly unhinged weirdness? Might be interesting...

 

It's an interesting concept, but definitely been done before. I once read one which had Dumbledore/McGonagall raising him as surrogate parents... damn that was a bad fic.
