That dog's very, very scared of the person who took that photo. I don't find it funny at all, and wouldn't be surprised if that Yorkie was being abused.

Belated response is belated.

We'll start with body language. Back arched, locked neck, on its haunches, leaning backwards away from the photographer. Front paws extremely tense, as is its neck, and general posture. I can't see the tail, but the fact that the dog's pressing into the corner behind it so hard means that he's trying to get as far away from the photographer as possible.

All of these denote fear, and at the very least, signify that the dog is facing a threat.

As for its facial expressions, ears flat onto its head, drawn back, eyes narrowed to slits, teeth exposed as its lips are drawn way back. Looks to be vocalizing a growl or similar noise as its lower jaw is held slightly open and forward.

All of these signs point to fear, or extreme caution. I'm leaning towards fear, especially considering that the photographer calls it a 'faggot dog', and that the dog apparently does it every time the owner comes home. This means that it's not an isolated response (some of the signs above could be taken to mean 'responding to an unknown or new threat'), so it's more likely that the dog is in actuality afraid of its owner.

On the plus side, its teeth look very healthy. :/

 

Just because the dog is afraid of its owner doesn't mean that the owner is abusive to the dog (though, the faggot remark is a black mark). I have a cat that is terrified of everyone that isn't me. I've had this cat since it was only a couple of weeks old, so I know that this isn't because the previous owner was abusive. He just hates people.
