The overreactions annoy me. Some people act like this is the worst episode ever. There have been quite a few worse episodes over the course of the series.

So far this season is starting out better than season 6 did.

It wasn't the worst episode over but I seriously wish they would stop fucking up the other Gods mythology so horribly, its very irritating when one of the few even semi decent gods in Egyptian Mythology and the Lord of the Underworld is reduced to that thing that jumps people in a parking lot and sets up murder. I'm really lost as to why if they absolutely had to have an evilish Egyptian God for this episode they couldn't use Set or at a bare minimum Sekhmet.

I liked tonight's episode. James Marsters and Charisma Carpenter were great. They had a great dynamic.

Did anyone else notice the Giles and Willow paintings at the art auction? I just about dies from laughter.

I felt a bit disappointed. I mean, there was so much more that could have been explored in the witch lore, but they used the entire episode as a pretense to set up some more emotional/guilty/let it out whiny bitch!Dean.
The end seemed rushed. But the way Spike just zapped the guy? :awesome

Stupid thing is, why couldn't they just have told him it was a leviathan instead of going idunnolol? He might have at least given a clue on how to beat them. All I heard was oh yeah, bottomless pit. :|

And body parts baked into cupcakes, somepony tell me why that sounds familiar D:

Alright so I was kinda iffy on this episode at first but Don was easily the most awesome witch in the entire series so far. I am however a bit confused on how powerful this sets up witches to potentially be as compared to other beings in the series, the god Osiris had to actually flat chloroform people in a parking lot to get them to his trials but if a witch eats their Wheaties regularly then they can casually cockslap beings that made God shit himself and lock them in the deepest nastiest pit he could find?

Still setting that aside, it was a very good episode and although I know we won't I wish we could see more of Don in the future.

I feel the same. Every time James Marsters pops up I want to see more of him. I felt this in Buffy (until showcasing him detracted from the show), Smallville, and Hawaii Five-0.

They left Don alive, so there is always the faint possibility of bringing him back.

Oh the possibility exists within the storyline sure just like it exists to bring back half of the side characters like him that I enjoyed from other episodes but I really doubt they will. Off the top of my head I can't think of a single one shot character like him they've ever brought back for even a minimum of a second episode.

    Perhaps.

Don said magic would keep it down for a day or two.

Just like Dean dropping the car on one in Bobby's junkyard put it down for under an hour.

Car = an hour or so

Magic = a day or two

Yet, from what we know, the leviathans recover completely unharmed. We'll see.

Eh the way I see it, Don said that the spell he flung out casually at a completely unknown creature would keep it down for a day or two. Don didn't even stop strolling much less try very hard when he casually put the Leviathan down. What I'd like to know is what Don could do to them if he knew everything the brothers know about Leviathans and sat down and said to himself "How can I fuck up a Leviathans day today?"

Ah, sorry, Jon. Missed that. Hey, there's a DLP Improvement. Scheduled (to GMT) Google Hangouts.

On topic - Dean's drinking. Do we like this? I can see how it can be justified. Not just his guilt over Amy, but seven or so years of being killed, raped, tortured in Hell and watching everyone you care about go through the same and die.

It's good character progression, I guess, but I can see it's going to cause problems.

So, let me get this straight, a mother killing scum to save her only child needs to be put down but two witches who kill normal, innocent folks for petty reasons can be let alive? I mean, I get that they seem too powerful to kill right now, but they didn't even try that hard. And similarly, it didn't bother Dean to let them go. They've killed witches in the past.

That said, am also a bit worried about the weird power level. Yeah, the god Osiris had to basically kidnap people from parking lot's like a common thug, but a witch can basically teabag powerful being such as a leviathan like that?

All that beside, really enjoyed this episode, if only for the two Buffy characters who worked great together and were immensely entertaining.

Makes you wonder why Dean and Sam never did all that much magic except a spell here and there if magic is that useful against creatures. There has to be sacrifice-less magic out there.

I really hope we will see the witches again.

Bobby was originally supposed to be a one-time character, and so was Rufus.

Mmm touche, I will hand you that but I just seriously doubt anything non-human in a one shot being given a recurring role. If they did I'd want them to bring back Kali first, she's the only God/Goddess they've ever shown on the show that came even slightly close to feeling godly.

Yeah she was cool. They were all shit compared to Lucifer though.

Another character only intended to be around for a few episode was Castiel. He was only going to be in six episodes of season 4. I can't imagine the past few seasons without him.
