Can you do that even on a steam version of gta4?

I believe he was talking about this and maybe this.

There are others for 'real' cars and realistic weapon parameters.

Here is a guide to downgrade your steam version to 1.0.4.0 which is needed to run most/all of these mods. The only drawback I see is that the graphics mods require quite good specs. If anyone has tried these mods, would love some feedback on how intensive they are and any ideas about whether or not my laptop can handle it.

Pretty amazing sale right now on indie royale. 4 games, Sanctum, Gemini Rue, Nimbus, and ARES Extinction Agenda, going for at the time of this post $3.62!! Basically anytime someone pays the cheapest price it goes up a little (I paid $3.42). Definitely worth it, I would pay a lot more for Sanctum alone. 4 days and 12 hours left at the time of this post.

I am sure most of the diehard steam users will ahve noticed, but there is a major Halloween steam sale. Focusing mainly on Zombie related games (obviosuly). Some good deals out there. Im planning to pick up Dead Space pack (1+2) for 16.99, Killing Floor pack (10.17) and Overlord 2 for 2.49

Would love any feedback people could give me regarding any of these games, or other potential Halloween bargains. Have fun and keep spending :D

Cthulhu Saves the World is pretty fun. It mocks and embraces old RPGs.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent. I only played the demo, and tbh, it scared the hell out of me. If you want horror, this is it.
Atom Zombie Smasher was pretty popular with the strategy and tactics crowd. The demo didn't really grab me.
Overlord. It was fun, but had a few niggling control issues which annoyed me.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. I'd always avoided this highly regarded RPG due to the bugs. Unofficial patches are still being released for it - a new one came out this week - so, I'm giving it a go. It's built on the Half Life 2 Source engine.

I've skipped the no brainers, eg. Bioshock, Stalker, etc.

I love this game. I only wish they had the time and money to go all out with it. I hear there's a fan project going where they're trying to port it over to the current source engine, so if that works out that would be pretty awesome.

Borderlands with all DLC bundled with it, $7.50.

Nation Red, kill lots of fucking zombies $3.40. Haven't had much chance to play it, but Total Biscuit did a video review a year ago. Reminds me of Crimsonland, which is a good thing.

I had no idea. Crimsonland was fantastic. Amazingly furious gameplay. I didn't know that Nation Red was anything like that.

A suggestion to anyone who's never played Crimsonland or other Robotron style games: Don't judge this based on screenshots or gameplay videos. They can't convey the fun. Play the demo.

Based on screenshots alone, there's no way that I would've thought Crimsonland would appeal to me. I would've missed out badly. So. Much. Fun.

Thanks, Psychotic Cat. The Total Biscuit review convinced me that Nation Red is a modern, improved Crimsonland.

Damn. Looks like I might be giving more money to the gaming enterprises by checking out this game. Yak are you going to purchase this game? If so, whats your steam as I may end up buying this and would be good to have someone local-ish to play with. Though this will be post-exam gaming most likely.

EDIT: Or I can check the masterlist gamertags thread. :facepalm

Yeah, I've got Nation Red now and I'm playing it. [And I've only just now realised the homage in the game name to Crimsonland.]

There are a lot of people using "yak" on Steam, and some even use my avatar. You might have better luck with this: https://steamcommunity.com/id/steamedyak

Have you joined the DLP Steam user group? It makes finding us easier. Add me to your friends list and I'll send you an invite if you're not already there.

edit: Added you and sent DLP invitation.

Cool. That does indeed make things easier. Added you and would love an invite to DLP Steam group as well. I have not bought Nation Red yet, but will do so before the sale ends. But it will likely be ~3 weeks before I play much because of pending exams.

Amnesia is a definite must for any horror fan. Only played an hour of it with a friend a few months back, but it scared the crap out of us and I intend to go back to it soon on my own. Atmospherics, sound effects, and in places the graphics are all wonderful, though it shows that the game is an Indie one.

The only real complaint is that I got a huge headache from the effects of hiding in shadows too long (screen blurs).

I've heard lots of good things on this forum about STALKER. What's good about it? Reviews when it came out didn't seem that positive from memory... or perhaps that was an expansion.

Edit: Just noticed Steam did it again. Individual prices for STALKER and the expansion are $3.74 each. Package price? $8.74. Bravo, maths department.

Ghost Master is a damn fun little game, and it costs less than a cheeseburger right now. Ditto Overlord 2. Ghost Master is like a buck twenty, Overlord 2 is two fiddy. That's less than a cup of coffee for both. Get them.

Unfortunately for any dead space fans who were feeling a bit lazy in their purchases, I believe the cost of the dead space pack has gone up. It was USD16.99 for me here Australia and is now USD28.89

The rest of the Halloween sale remains unchanged AFAIK. Get buying people :)

Also if anyone has got Nation Red, feel free to add me. Game seems more fun with more players.

It was a bit silly that Dead Space 2 alone was $35, but the pack $17.

It was indeed, that is why I bought the pack ASAP because the deal seemed to good to be true - I guess it was.
