Ah "the Other" backstory, Very mysterious indeed. Moffat would need atlease a season or two to reintroduce the idea before he attempts to even link the doctor to him.

Would be a good way to bring in OMEGA and RASSILION. And I mean Timothy Dalton. My loins Beckon to him to come back. He was such a good villain.

I still say they need to reintroduce Susan foreman some how. And yes as most are aware. She is on another universe Earth.

These plots beg to be merged.

Why the fuck would you ignore the tv series if your making a movie based on a highly successful tv series.

This move makes me wonder if there are plans in the works to wrap up and end the Doctor Who storyline in the series within the 2-3 year timeframe suggested before this film may come out.

I'd quite like to see the Doctor's story come to an end, but can't think of many ways that it would be satisfactory. Perhaps something along the lines of the Doctor somehow reaching early Gallifrey assuming the mantle of 'the Other', being tossed into the genetic weave thingy by which Time Lords are born, and then being reborn as his original incarnation, the first Doctor, to go through the life which lies in his past.

The circular and paradoxical nature appeals to me. But perhaps it's a silly idea.

Blatant attempt at starting a new cashcow film franchise now that those famous sci-fi films about Jedi living in a castle and using tiny wooden lightsabres is finished, though.

Personally, I'd like a spinoff of the Doctor's Daughter from season four. Then again, doing that would lose a vital part of the show's charm, and Torchwood already did the darker and grittier thing.

Meh, I'm not surprised really, Doctor Who is hugely popular in the UK and US it makes sense they would try to capitalize on it. Apparently Torchwood already moved to the US? IDK, one of these days I'm going to have to get over my Jackhate and watch that show...

Will I watch this movie? If it's Doctor Who with the police box and the odd Doctor with his weird way of dress and fast talk with the narmy aliens then yes. If it's another reboot aimed to make it darker and edgier and less silly, fuck it.

As for wrapping up DW, it seems like it's heading that way if only because of the last season finale where Moffat wrote himself into a corner.

I would have minded... but I watched the last season which was such utter shit that I would have preferred the show to end on the high note that was Series 5.

To be honest, I could see Michael Fassbender (Magneto from X-Men First Class) rocking the Doctor Who character on the big screen. :sherlock:

Finally finished going through season 4 for the first time. My God the Doctor's death is traumatic to go through.

Trailer and title for the Christmas Special. Seems like C.S. Lewis is the new writer.

I think the title of the episode is the thing I enjoyed most about the trailer.

The Doctor, The Widow, and the Wardrobe. How can you go wrong?

Trailer is good, but this is better. If I had money, I'd buy Doctor's bow tie for sure and probably his jacket.

    Good one. :)

And they are selling this as a complete outfit? Not very smart if you ask me. I'm pretty sure that they would get a lot more money selling every item separately.

It's not about the money, it's all about the outfit.

Given that the whole point is to raise money for charity, it's at least a little bit about the money...but equally, the bowtie (for instance) by itself is a bowtie, it's only with the rest of the outfit that it becomes something special.

Sure, but there are people who will pay a great deal of money for the Doctor's third shoe alone. ;)
