I came in here to tell folks to get Atom Zombie Smasher. I played the demo and was both pissed off and loved it at the same time. Anyone who knows me knows I don't pay for games unless they deserve to be paid for. At 3 bucks I had to snatch this one up, and I'm effing broke atm, lol.

Bloodlines I've always wanted to play, but avoided it. I tried it at launch and couldnt get it to work no matter what I did. Came back awhile later, snatched up patch after patch, and it was still broken and crashy. Years later I wonder if it runs right now and is safe to try?

Stalker: Buy it. Period. One of the best games ever, it has it's bugs too, but the world, and the atmosphere make it worth it. You'll shit your pants the first time one of those vampire monsters pops out at you, or when the mind controller mutant takes control of you. Read our reviews here on DLP for the first one, we were gushing all over it.

I downloaded it and ran it just now. I played through the tutorial and then ran around Santa Monica and its sewer system for 10 minutes.

It runs fine. Getting it started on a modern system though, takes a little work.

I'm using a gaming laptop with an Intel i7, Win7 64-bit, 1600x900 res screen [16:9] and a Mobility Radeon HD5870. Not exactly standard hardware for an older game. Thankfully the steps I had to take to get this running on a 64-bit system were all laid out for me in the Unofficial Patch notes and on the Steam forum. They're simple enough. When I did have a problem it was because I'd skipped "Run Steam in Admin mode".

The game ran smoothly and without a hitch after that.

LMFAO Holy fuck, yes. The best game from 2010, straight up. Best reason to love Amnesia? This is the common reaction:

Oh god, the first time I watched that video I was in tears. Although it also made clear that I will never play the game. Ever:(

And what's wrong with Azriel Odin, Space Ghost? I think it's a super cool, edgy, and original name???

Heh, clearly. That'll be my backup if the whole college-liberal-arts-degree thing doesn't pan out, which these days looks to be the case more and more...

Bastion was pretty fun, I enjoyed it. Needs to be a Bastion 2 with a full budget given to it, the first game is very, very small and very quick. It's an Xbox arcade title, so obviously it's going to be small, but I was hoping for more.

Sanctum is on sale for 50% off for both original game only and complete pack with DLC. For those who do not know its a combo FPS and Tower Defense game that supports coop with 1 other player.

Apparently the original dame without DLC is quite short but with the DLC it resembles a normal sized game. Definitely picking this up for myself.

Picked Sanctum up last night and it's a pretty good game to be honest. Only played single player so far but I'll probably get into multi player once I'm a bit better though.

    Violators are fucking OP.

    @Jas: Yep, the complete pack.

Did you pick up the complete pack? Apparently comes close to doubling the game length. I will probably start giving it a go in 2 weeks once exams are done. Happy playing.

I know that a lot of active Steam users monitor this thread, so if you haven't heard already, Steam was hacked and their customer account database was accessed. Our Steam passwords and credit card information was encrypted.

Don't discuss this here, in this thread. I'll start a new thread for that. This post is just to alert you to a breaking news situation.

edit: DLP discussion thread for the Steam hack is here: http://forums.darklordpotter.net/showthread.php?p=507791

If anyone is game enough to use their cards again or were one of the paypal users and thus don't care - Alien Breed series is on sale. All 3 for USD $5.74

Nice isometric top down shooter similar to Alien Swarm that was released for free but only 2 player co-op but with more levels and content.

Steam's Midweek Madness sale has Oblivion 75% off. $4.99USD gets you the GOTY edition or $6.24USD for the Deluxe.

I thought about buying the deluxe one, but I really hate buying single player only games. The least they could do was make up some achievements for us.

Bought the GOTY edition. I wouldn't have bothered if it weren't just $5.00, as I've played the vanilla 360 version and wasn't impressed, but Skyrim has me interested in trying Oblivion out again. Modded of course.

Now I need to hunt through the Nexus for a few days. -_-
