That does sound like what happened to me, yeah. It did happen around the time I picked up all of Vilkas's Two-Handed training.

Does anyone know how to escape the locked room at the end of the final thievess guild quest? I keep drowning before I've found the exit.

Somehow, I'm not surprised. Incidentally, now all the horses in my game look like Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie.

Been having a lot of fun with Skyrim, even though I haven't really done any of the major quest lines yet. You can barely go five minutes without getting a new side quest or finding a dungeon while exploring.

Wait till the water reaches the top. There's a cave up there. When you float up just hop right in.

People are modding the game already? I thought they would take at least a couple months before starting.

So if you all try and cheat the fun out of a game like me, here's how I leveled my mage ridiculously fast:

Shout: Kyne's Peace. It's an assload of help with this trick.

Alteration: the Flesh series (oak, stone, etc.)
    Conjuration: Soul Trap
Restoration: the Ward series, though I used traps and well placed perk points to get my skill up to forty within the first Barrow
Illusion: Muffle (though you don't need to be in combat, so you don't need the trick)

Find a mudcrab, stand on top of a rock nearby after initiating combat, and use whatever spell you want from the list above (or others, whatever).

After draining your magicka, use Kyne's peace, wait an hour. Your mana is restored and you still have the oh, so dangerous mudcrab to initiate combat with.

    Rinse, repeat.

Wheitrun has the blacksmith, innkeeper, general goods store and the potioneer. That's usually enough for me, but I disenchant everything and save crafting materials like; gems, ore, leather and soulstones. I also have the 1k extra gold skill perk and are invested in them

Has anyone modded their game yet? I was very disappointed with the graphics when I first started playing. With everything on ultra. You could tell that it was made for console. After some searching I found some lines you could add to your .ini files that makes the game look much better. I'm having some trouble with shadows though, word on the street is that they messed up and put shadows on CPU instead of GPU, the FPS is kind of funky.
My first core never goes over 70% and my other cores stays under 55%. The GPU is never over 75%. I'm not sure why but I'm guessing it's my drivers, I hope they'll update them soon.

I can't wait for the HD textures that'll come though, it'll enhance the game so much.

Changing FOV to 90 was the best thing ever. It feels so much better than the original (which is like 70).

I like the game so far, but I think it's way to easy. The game is leading you by the hand all the time, and you can't turn the quest tracker off because the NPC never tell you where to go.
I play an imperial thief/assassin on the hardest difficulty and I use a bow. Sneak attacking is super effective and if there are any mobs left after I've fired my first 5 or so arrows before getting spotted, I can kite (the AI sucks major ass) or just summon a minion to tank for me. I tried to use a companion but their AI is not good enough, they keep triggering traps and getting spotted. I'm level 43 now and I've finished questing in 2 towns and done lots of small/random quests. So I have a long way to go, I hope it'll be more difficult later on and not just more hp/damage on mobs.

    Back to Skyrim now!

A list of texture mods that I find interesting/useful.

There's also a mod that puts Rainbow Dash's cutie mark on your werewolf form's thigh.

    I lol'd hard.

Link: Rainbow Dash Cutie Mark For Werewolf.

    Also, utility mods:

I don't like the new leveling system. I can't afford to train anything other than combat skills because as soon as I train a non-combat skill too high, I'll get raped by a mudcrab, or a wolf.

Sneak levels way too fast - early on, it's one successful sneak attack with a melee weapon per level, and later on, it's two to three. I maxed it in about fifteen minutes in the tutorial.

The game is fun, though, and the main quest is a definite improvement on Oblivion's.

I do hope modders manage to fix the interface problems, though.

There's an excellent article on rockpapershotgun about Skyrim's horrible interface. I was really disappointed about the Menu, as it simply feels too damn consolish. Tried to control it by using mouse-only, but I gave up after two minutes of stuggling to go back/forward.

Someone made an excellent picture describing what precisely was wrong with it, and how it should be fixed. There's a link to it in the article, but here's a direct link for those too lazy to read it.

I do hope the modders find a way to fix it.

I really enjoy playing a stealthy archer. It's so much fun to see an NPC with an arrow sticking out of one of his eyes insisting that he's just getting jumpy and imagining things.

Ehehe... got the game today. My adventures so far consist mainly of getting lost, climbing the sheer sides of mountains, and wandering into dungeons.

Destruction + Stacking Magicka Regen = OP. I'm solo-playing on Master difficulty level.. AND IT'S STILL TOO EASY.

I'm level 24 and still using adept spells, for chrissake's. I don't even want to guess at the unstoppable engine of destruction I'd be with master and expert level spells at my command.

    Blood Dragons? Psh.

Entire fort full of enemies? HAH.

Ambushed by two saber cats, six bandits, and a Dragon(no, I have no idea how that happend)? I BRING THE THUNDER, WORMS.

Lichs/Undead Dragon Priests? SOMETIMES they're a LITTLE bit of a challenge now that I've got Morokei + Arch-Mages Robe. All you have to do is summon an Atronach (I like the storm Atronach, though the frosty is a better tank), keep it up, and spam your damaging spell of choice.

I seriously hope someone makes a mod that dials the difficulty "up to eleven".

Cause right now, even on Master? It's too damned easy. I'm getting bored, and I hate being bored of what is otherwise an awesome game. x.x

Having Morrowind-style quest log would have been great. From memory a good number of quests in Morrowind required you to actually read the log and piece together the clues to find out where to go next. Implementing this as a mod would be a bitch though.
