Ive had a similar issue. I have to turn in a bounty to the Jarl's assistant in Riften, but I get no dialogue from him when I speak to him. Yet the quest is still active in my quest log. I just ignored it.

Okay, just defeated a random dragon outside of a Stormcloak fort. Went back to Whiterun to dump some stuff so that I could take the scales/bones, but when I got back the skeleton had disappeared. I was quite annoyed, so make sure you guys loot the corpse before fast travelling.

Fuck. Do I buy the game for PS3 or do I wait a few months until I get a better PC to run it on?

:/ what do DLP? What do?

As soon as the first amazing mods come out you'd regret having bought it for PS3. I'm speaking from experience.

I don't know what specs your current PC has, but Skyrim runs surprisingly well on older machines. You could google for someone who has a similarly powerful PC and see if they can play the game.

This! I have yet to buy Skyrim because I don't want to pay full price for it (stingy I know) and my laptop is not that great, but I will get it for the PC over a console simply because mods can give new life to these types of games and these will inevitably be almost exclusive to the PC variant.

The College quests were a huge let-down for me. It felt really short, and though there are some interesting aspects, Bethesda obviously didn't bother with adding background to the story. Becoming Arch-Mage in Skyrim was rather anti-climatic.

Honestly, the entire college was rather disappointing.

Showed up expecting something epic, and instead got a deserted castle...

I understand that magic has been in decline in Tamriel since the Oblivion Incident, but I expected something a little more interesting that a drafty old ruin with less than 10 people in it.

Truth be told, I've found most of the group questlines a bit underwhelming.

Companions were only interesting for the werewolf aspect, which could have been explored further instead of giving us "Go forth and kill this Silver Hand fucker", focusing instead on the moral and social implications of it.

Thieves Guild was interesting for its initiation and the first real quest they give you, but got boring really quickly with the "get a foothold in the town of ______" quests. I will say that it got interesting again towards the end.

Not doing the Dark Brotherhood on this character, it just doesn't suit his personality and alignment, so I can't comment on those.

I've had more fun wandering than doing any particular quests.

I normally pick a quest a decent distance away and just start walking.

A random quest like Red Eagle should probably have taken me 10 minutes to walk to and 20 minutes to complete, instead it took 8 hours, 4 dragons, 3 caves, 3 random ambushes by Forsworn, a Dwemer ruin, and a full scale battle between a village of Forsworn a Blood Dragon and 2 Atronachs summoned by quest mates, all of which I randomly stumbled into.

Then again, those 8 hours completely burned me out on Skyrim for a few days...

    Good times.

I started and am about ten levels in. Has anyone faced Krosis yet. In the College quest to recover the missing books you can find a dragon burial site if you take a little detour. The problem is after you kill the dragon this bitch of a shade comes out and starts fucking with you. It seems immune to all physical attacks, which makes Lydia useless and nothing I do can seem to faze it , mostly because it dodges like a motherfucker. Has anyone faced this yet? And more importantly, is it common, I've only killed about three dragons so I wouldn't know.

Yes, and believe me it was easy to do him. Make sure to come to the burial place with your horse.

Yeah. Your horse. Believe me, my horse tanked that guy all I had to do is sit and watch. And throw a couple of arrows.

Lydia can take him. Just keep her healed, and he'll die eventually.

Lydia got knocked flat on her ass. And those fucking firebombs make me far too worried about my own ass to do anything to help her. But I'll try the horse thing though, it might be useful.

I'm beginning to think I fucked up when I made my character lol. I'm playing a Heavy Armour Imperial Spellsword (basically throw magic at them till you run out, then bash them with your sword) and I'm getting my ass whupped on everything except Novice. Now, this wasn't a problem until about level 5 it seems which is what makes me wonder where exactly I went wrong. I have no idea what sort of level scaling there is and I hope I didn't end up on the wrong side of it. I know I shouldn't be taking on giants yet, but nor should I be dying everywhere.

But all in all the game is awesome. The main quest is far more interesting than Oblivion's, which I gave up on immediately, although the Winterhold College quest got very tedious very fast I'm still looking forward to playing. The game feels larger and less structured than Oblivion though, and I'm not necessarily sure that's a good thing. I also hate the fact that there seems to be no higher powered version of the Flames spell. It's simply far more effective to just hold down the trigger and roast every thing :awesome

Also: Mammoths, just fuck Mammoths. There's something hilarious about pwning a bunch of giants and having to run from their pets :)

Having an utter blast with the game right now. Level 46 Nord, maxed out in Light Armor, Block, One-Handed, and Smithing perk trees. Working on Archery and Enchanting last. With Daedric Sword and a Dragonscale Shield in both hands, and Nightingale Armor on, I kill most mooks fairly fast. Only problem are archers and mages for the most part, but the shield and smart play takes care of that for the most part.

There are a few things I miss from older Elder Scrolls or things I wished Betheseda added, including:

    - Spell creation. This needs to come out in a future DLC honestly. You might claim that it makes Skyrim too unbalanced, but you when you can exploit alchemy, smithing, and enchanting to make weapons that practically one-shot anything in the game; or how a maxed out Sneak tree with Dark Brotherhood gloves can do the same with daggers... I can't really see the merit in that argument.

    - A skill tree for unarmed and kickass animations to go along with

    - Eastern-styled weapons. I also actually liked using Spears in Morrowind, so it would be nice to see a Polearms skill tree.

    - More expansive Guild and relevant quest lines. The Companion quest line and Mage College quest line were both fairly disappointing. Only decently enjoyable one so far is the Thieves' Guild and that's mainly because the armor you get is easily the best-looking in the game (although Ebony armor comes close). Can't comment on the Dark Brotherhood because I haven't done that quite yet.

    - Make dragons more difficult. It's kind of anti-climatic when various regular enemies are more difficult than the dragons. At one point, about 10 or 20 levels back, I was having a harder time going against bears than dragons. Dragons quite simply need to be more a lot epic.

    - More customization on smithing and enchanting. You should be able to name your created weapons or newly enchanted pieces. It would also be awesome if you were able to buy dyes in order to colorize your gear as you wanted.

    - Better companion AI. Having your Companion zerg when you don't want them to or accidentally getting in your way can be extremely annoying. It would be nice to be able to control companion behavior beyond the dialogue options of "Open door" or "Go over there" and what not.

And a quick idea for a future mod: Change the Nightingale Cowl to resemble Batman's cowl. That would be quite awesome.

There are several other things I'd like to see but I'm too tired right now to go through them. All that said though, I'm still enjoying this a lot more than I did other Elder Scrolls and the game is extremely fun.

You can do this. You have to name them in the process though.

Not sure exactly how to access the option, but my friend has Skyrim on the 360 but has been able to rename his weapons during enchanting.

It should be possible for you too.

I don't know. Daedric looks pretty bad-ass in my opinion.

    Type into console:

    setstage CR05 200

It'll complete the quest, but I don't know if you'll get the reward.

At the last step, right before you press X to create an object. Press Y, it brings up the x-box type interface and you can name your swag.
