Made me think of that Zelda one posted not too long ago. I've wanted to start a web comic like this--or, you know, at least write the panels.

Needz to work on ma draws.

This one was taken just down the road from me on Australia Day a year or two ago, at a place called Hillarys Boat Harbour--really good churros.

It is actually several photos merged into one. I forget the term for that. Time-lapse? Still pretty cool, but this wasn't some lucky snap. Either that, or all those ghosts standing along the shoreline need to be 'busted.

Didn't realize it was edited, but now that I look closely, I have to concede your point. I think, it is something like undercranking and then merging them together.

Down the road you say, lucky to live near such a beautiful place.

Through the magic of Google, I have found the creator:

    http://www.dbfletcher.com/index.php/furniture/capstan-table/

Some of the articles I could find say they cost around $25,000. Would be fucking worth it for something that could expand from 6 seats to 12 without putting those leaves in (that hardly ever fit right after the first time).

The videos on DB Fletcher's site show the manual action, but also state that it can be done electronically (as in the gif, I assume). Fuck yeah.

I didn't really like that piece honestly. I feel Mark Twain's short story The Mysterious Stranger also makes you reflect but isn't made to be so "touching" to the reader.

This feels more like its message is "be kind to your fellow man, or you shall suffer" which just seems weak to me.

Sorry if the post isn't cohesive enough, I'm not exactly doing so well in the cognitive department lately.

Hmm. It was linked to me on this guy's profile a few months ago. To be honest, I vaguely like the simplicity of it, though the thumb was mainly for the tree / nuke pic in the first post. It's a nice idea, at any rate, and I find the Twain comparison a little off... though that's probably because I've always found Twain to be dull.

Link to the short he's talking about.

    Anyway.

Yup, that's basically what I saw, but when I did, I was like; "Damn, that was sneaky". Interesting (except of course, they're not you)

Nah, not really. Buddahism isn't about "or you'll suffer" at all, that's more in line with Christianity. The realisation that you are a part of a whole "forces" you to be kind and empathic to all other beings, but I believe the cognitive implications run much deeper than you simply being nicer.

That, or I'm just having an Asian hard-on moment... :D
