New episode was entertaining, if only for the huge focus on Bobby. Dean pissed me off again at the end though.

As much as Dean annoyed me, he did have a point. They all know that when you stay behind as a ghost you eventually lose your sanity and will become one of the things they hunt.

That didn't stop him from being an absolute dick about it though.

True, but that isn't a fast process. It can take years or months, so, having Bobby stick around for a few weeks shouldn't be that "isn't right".

Besides, both brothers are only alive because of similar unnatural reasons, he can't be that against it. Or does that only apply to people who are not his brother?

I get that Dean has "grown" and wouldn't stuck a deal with a demon again at this point but still, extremely annoying that Dean of all people is saying these things.

So why not make a will or something so that in the event of Sam and Deans death, the flask that ties Bobby to the world is sent to some hunter friend to be burned. That way the "eventually" will never happen since Bobby won't ever be trapped alone in the world unable to move on while everyone he knew is dead (which presumably is what would drive him mad). He will "die" with Sam and Dean.

And in the meantime, they are facing a truly major threat in the form of Leviathans. Having an ally that can literally walk through walls to spy on things and be invisible would certainly be a huge boost. Bobby can help them figure out what the Leviathans are really up to. Not to mention all the other hunter knowledge Bobby has gathered over the years. Dean might complain, but Bobby has already saved those two several times in the previous episodes. Ghost!Bobby might even end up saving the world or something.

Besides, there is always the chance that Castiel will regain his sanity in which case he might be able to turn Bobby corporeal again (in other words, resurrect him).

EDIT: Actually, I just realised. Bobby learned to manipulate objects this episode and actually demonstrated the ability to move his own flask. Which means that he does not even need the help of a hunter friend. He can actually destroy himself by moving the flask himself and throwing it into a fire or something. As a hunter, he would also be smart enough to do it before he goes all insane and evil.

I think it's far more likely that Castiel will be playing the villain again next season when Lucifer takes over.

Gotta agree with the general consensus, Dean was being an idiot. All of the things Datakim mentioned are true and on top of that if nothing else having an intangible friend who with practice will be able to chuck a grand piano at your enemies for a warm up will be more than a hair useful. Maybe much much much later on down the road its something they need to consider but for right now? Dean of all people has no business whatsoever spewing crap about the natural order of things. Considering how many times they've both died and come back I'd say what little remains of "The Natural Order of Things" is facedown in a ditch somewhere outside of Lawrence, Kansas.

Yeah, Dean spouting about the natural order was hypocritical considering the reasons why he and Sam are still alive.

The "fancy lady" was awesome. I was sad to see her go like that. It's somehow fitting that the only polite person on this show is the ghost of a long dead hooker.

On the other side of that coin, I thought it weak writing that she spent a minute telling Sam/Dean how to behave in polite society, when she could have spent that minute filling them in on life or death plot details.

"There is danger here and you must know about it, but first let us observe the niceties of my era!"

Lazy writing, I thought. It would have worked just as well for the bad ghost to appear and absorb her, instead of trotting off to burn her bones.

    Eh, no matter.

I did enjoy the episode, although why Bobby couldn't tell the lads what Dick's up to is, again, I think the writer's being lazy. He saw the file in Dick's office, before dying. But maybe he didn't get anything of note from it, besides those coordinates--however, his face at the time would suggest otherwise.

Dean was being an idiot but it seemed in character for him as an initial reaction. It would have annoyed me far more if he was immediately accepting and considering ways to use Bobby's ghost status to best advantage. That said if they don't transition to that after having a bit of time to consider things it'll be frustrating.

Am I the only one who thinks that Bobby handled himself and the situation pretty damn well? I mean, he protected the girl and the brothers and didn't get vengeful or anything and only did enough to hold the monsters back but Dean and Sam reacted at the end as if he had gone off the deep end. What the hell? What was he supposed to do, nothing?

Also found he weird how panicky they reacted to the thought that she would have a quasi immortal backup in there, I would have been glad that Bobby was watching her back and as we have seen, it was needed.

Other than that, really enjoyed the episode although they laid the girl nerd thing a bit too thick. The part where Sam convinced her by saying WWHD was rather bad and a bit insulting.

But Felicia Day was awesome and I wouldn't mind seeing her again. Dick Roman is immensely entertaining to watch too.

    They reacted that way because;

    1. They couldn't see what he was doing most of the time during the scene, all they saw is her getting hurt and Dick getting pounded.

    2. They didn't want him to go because if he went vengeful, which he almost did, they'd lose him permanently.

    3. They don't know what Dick is capable of, What if he can eat ghosts?

Bobby pushed the second guy right into Charlie to get to Dick, when he could have stopped him instead.

The new Meg is utterly unattractive in every way. She reminds me of Artemis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Currently working my way through Season 6 after I randomly decided to catch up. For those interested, I'm just about to start the episode where
Dean makes a bargain with Death to get Sam's soul out of Lucifer's cage.

I'm really liking the series so far, I have no idea why I didn't get into it when it first came out. But maybe that's just my tastes changing over the years.

I like her voice acting a lot. It adds to her character.

The scene where he broke the word of god was hilarious.

I always hoped someone writes a fic where the bargain involves Dean and Sam (after he is fixed) getting back 3 items stolen from Death by 3 brothers a long time ago.

    Guess who has them now?

Could be suitably epic, but then again, you'd have to at the very least make Dean and Sam muggleborn or squib. Preferably one of those radical muggleborns that tells wizarding society to go fuck itself and stops practicing magic.

The reason why I bring up this point is because said artifacts are owned by wizards, thus, muggle-repelling charms and the like.

On another note, one would think that Voldemort, who put so much value on the Death Stick, would value the other parts of the Hallows equally.
