Funny thing is that there's meant to be pointless nudity in Qarth :p

It's no big deal at all, really.

I'm just saying: would have been much better to get rid of a few Ros scenes and include the Qarth dresses. Nudity balance maintained, faithfulness to the books increased.

A little something for the Natalia 'Tonks' Tena fans this week.

Hehe, and for those who are fans of seeing that little snot, Joffrey, get his shit slapped by Tyrion. I foresee another ani-gif making the rounds in the near future. :awesome

Ah, puts a fiery song in my icy heart, that does.

    That would be me.

    :awesome

It looks as though she's covering the role for the Reed kids as well, which might mean Osha will head north with Bran rather than accompany Rickon to some meaningless waste. Can't figure how they'll play that, though.

I also favor the show's replacement of the Volantis lady/amputator for Jeyne Westerling. Being named Jeyne in Westeros is just not healthy.

A shiver ran down my spine at the mere mention of Roose Bolton's bastard being sent north.

Also, I absolutely died laughing the last time Amory Lorch showed up.

That was some seriously epic shit. Season two as a whole has been boss, book changes and all (Fuck the purists, I'm getting two epic stories in the same world for free, and seeing it unfold on screen is awesome), and tonight's ep really nailed it. The opening scene alone has to be one of my favourite of all time, and yeesh:

Rodrik's death was brutal, emotive and just plain well done on every front. Alfie's conflicted look, that little kick to remove the head for good, Isaac HW's screams of pain and the music... Just damn.

And on the other side of the coin, fucking hilarious bit with Armory Lorch's death. Arya gets all up in Jaqen's shit, and he gives this fantastic little eyeroll before we jump to Tywin and Lorch just falls to his death. Such a badass ninja, and a hell of a lot more memorable in my mind than compared to the books, where that third-person speak made me frownface but in the show is just awesome.

Also the riots, the Joffrey slapping, Ygritte (Lovvvvveeee her), Ramsay mention, Tywin/Arya "This shit is awesome give those two Emmys already fucksake" interaction, and a bigger plot impetus for Dany to head into the House of the Undying... Good fucking shit, show.

Hm... for those still interested I read yesterday an interview about the series and it seems like G. Martin gave the producers some notes on how he planed the last two books and the end so that even if the worst happens the series will have a "real" ending..

Latest episode was pretty good - lots of good character interactions. Ygritte was :awesome, and the scene with Tywin and Arya was really well done. It's different from the relationship they had in the books, but I liked it. Some good insight into Tywin's character.

Also, I've been trying to figure out where they're going with the whole Robb/doctor thing. I thought she was going to be a replacement for Jeyne Westerling, but he's still going to the Crag, so I'm not so sure anymore.

They really are doing the 'There is no good or evil, only power and those too weak to have it' bit very well by showing the human side of Tywin with his interaction with Arya, the Ygritte - Jon interaction and more.

Any idea who is going to portray Mance Rayder?

I think the doctor subplot was to give Rob more of a character than in the books, where he's mostly seen before or after some battle or while he's planning for the next one.

I'm not a fan some of the changes that have been made this season.

Gregor looks like he should have a top hat on and be tip-toeing around in the shadows. But I get that it's difficult to find people that freakishly big that aren't already on some freak- uh, I mean the MMA or something.

Jaime and his actions in the last episode were simply ridiculous. Just plain silly. There was little to gain that couldn't have been done with working with Alton, it's there purely to make him out as villainous, which really isn't something that should be happening because of long-term reasons. At some point he's going to be a big part of the story, us despising him isn't going to help.

That said, that was some fucking awesome acting. Just brilliant. I thought that that Alton guy was just there to replace Cleos, but he shone on his own. I also like the fact that we heard about alternate branches of the Lannister dynasty.

Don't really like Jon not letting Ygritte go either, but he's older and less of an idiot I guess. That may just be my inner lore fag talking.

Okay, I'm confused now, when did Tyrion meet Ros? What's going on here? Did I miss something because if I'm correct he never went to her brothel.

I don't know how I feel about the changes made this season.

Daenerys storyline is completely different. King of Qarth? Wut? Am I missing something from the first two books? I am not a fan of what they did here.

Jamie has been made to be the ultimate villain, it's going to be hard to turn him around to be likeable at this rate.

Jon's changes I really don't care about, same with Robbs, though I do like the doctor. She is cool.

I do like what they did with Arya though. She should win all the awards for her conversations with Tywin. I did not want Tywin to leave as the convos were just epic.

How is everyone else liking the series so far? It's going to begin wrapping up in the next couple episodes.

Nah. Jamie's just shown to be a ruthless, amoral, smiles-while-he-kills-you, wolf in knight's clothing. He isn't crazy. He doesn't kill people for no reason. He isn't Satan. He could easily gain the audience's support in the future. It's just a matter of circumstance and portrayal.

I don't think anyone's mentioned this yet - Jaquen says that he serves the Red God (rather than the Many-Faced God). This is a massive lore change from the books and could have a huge impact on some later sections of the story. How do you think they're going to work it in?

Also, apparently I was right about the doctor (have we learned her name?). Kinda defeated the whole point of including the Crag though.

Lindsey: they changed the premise for Dany going to the House of the Undying, and the King of Quarth thing was part of it. Basically, instead of just going to visit, she gets forced, and they had to invent a whole subplot to do it. I agree that it was pretty clumsy, and the only thing it added was a greater sense of urgency. The canon way of doing it would have worked fine, imo.

In this vein, Gregor Clegane really hasn't been played up enough - he's part of what kept Jaime's character from seeming too evil in the books. Sure, what Jaime does is horrible and all, but when you stand him up against Gregor, you realize that he's really not all that bad.

In the series though, he's easily one of the worst characters, behind only Joffrey and maybe Pyat Pree. So yes, I think it will be a bit more difficult to get the TV audience to sympathize with him later on than it was with the book audience. That's not to say that it can't be done though.
