Difficulty will matter for all of the 30 minutes it takes me to whip together a condenser, after that I doubt I'll be leaving my house much.

And thanks for the IP Cas, you're the man.

Take a look at a relatively new ( I think) mod called TerraFirmaCraft. If you like hard mode this is the mod for you!
    Main page: http://www.terrafirmacraft.com/
    Let's play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjyc8HjRDd4&noredirect=1

Crafting, building, basically everything has been made a lot harder and a lot more realistic. No more chopping down trees with your bare hands. Stone pickaxes does not exist. Ores are a lot harder to find and smelt, so is crafting the right tools as you advance from the stone age, through copper, bronze and the iron age, and so on.

It is a lot hard but that is also what makes it so much more satisfying when you achieve something new. Tunnels collapse and needs support beams now, cobble and dirt are affected by gravity etc. Best of all, the world is a lot larger. Ocean height level is roughly 140, which means that there is more than twice as far down to the lowest layers. Mountains span up to height level 220 or more. A lot of new vegetation has been added; I can't count the number of different kinds of trees, seeds and plants that exists in this world, but it is a lot.

Some have called it the Age of Empires of Minecraft, others the dwarf fortress.

I have been playing this mod for a couple of days and it is amazing. Things are so very difficult that team play is almost a must if you want the endgame items.

Gangnam Style parody by CaptainSparklez who also made Revenge (Usher Parody) and Fallen Kingdom (Coldplay parody) with awesome animations.

The soft shading used on the player models makes the entire video look so creepy.

    Uh, yes. The Super-Hostile series.

I'd skip some of the older ones until he's re-created them, but Spellbound Caves, The Black Desert 1(Haven't played #2 yet) and Legendary in particular are extremely good.

The guy that created them has to be an incarnation of pure evil. Every fucking inch of some of those maps is filled with horrible and ingenious traps. I have gotten fucked over so many times, usually by being tricked into it. I swear this guy puts more effort into his maps than some RPG developers do.

Let me start 2013 by sharing what has been soaking up an ungodly amount of my time over the past... month.

    Feed the Beast

Good god, this thing has resurrected my interest in Minecraft. It's a lot like Tekkit, or so I'm told, but whatever it's like, it's fucking addicting. It's got the technical mods, like IC2 and RP2, but it's also got a lot of mystical elements, like Mystcraft, Thaumcraft, Twilight Forest, etc., the latter two I haven't even delved into yet. If only they added The Aether...

I've pulled several days in a row playing this for 12 hours straight, and I never do that. If there was a DLP FTB server, I might just never leave.
