Behind the Scenes of The Snowmen.

Watching this I was reminded of this cool scene with the camera walking into TARDIS though didn't realized before that it was the first time we saw something like that.

Also, additionally to what Shinysavage said about Clara, I'm a little disappointed that she is not a "normal" companion. I was hoping for Mickey/Martha/Rory and we are getting Rose/Donna/River/Amy.

I vaguely recall the Great Intelligence from the original show as a sort of disembodied being that possessed people and referred to itself in plural. Not really one of the more memorable old-school baddies.

Clara having a mystery won't bother me so long as the writers refrain from making her the most important/powerful/bamf woman in the universe.

Also, I really hope Strax becomes a frequently recurring companion. Probably the first character since Craig to have me laughing out loud. He can be the new Mickey.

I recognised the name, but couldn't pin down where I'd heard it. After a bit of wiki surfing it turns out the Great Intelligence is Yog-Sothoth, one of the Great Old Ones and part of Doctor Who's take on the Cthulhu Mythos.

Saw the episode. Loved the episode. Desperately want Commander Strax as a recurring companion.

While that would be awesome, and those pictures most certainly are...the link you've posted is based on an article that is not entirely accurate. There's an audio drama in November which definitely has all the surviving Doctors, but in terms of the show itself absolutely nothing has been confirmed, as far as I can see.

yes but apparantly special effects? Maybe something like how they did Trials and Tribbleations on DS9?

Then again Shinysavage said the link was inaccurate?

The first doctor was ill for the three doctors, so they had him literally phone the episode in. I see no reason they can't just lift the footage straight from that one for him at least.

It might be 100% accurate. But it's based on an article in a local rag which makes claims about the show that haven't been confirmed anywhere at all. Hardly a reliable source, but stranger things have happened.

For what it's worth, all Moffat really seems to have officially said about the anniversary is this:

I read somewhere that the actor that plays Filch in Harry Potter will be playing the first Doctor.

Didn't he play the collector dude in Dinosaurs on a Spaceship?

Yeah, he did. Hmmmm. I'll go have a look at the article I read again.

EDIT: Courtesy of io9, which is usually a good source.

So not the Anniversary Special, my mistake.

It might be the angles, but your Doctor is surprisingly close.

So, a couple of bits of news for the new series/50th anniversary.

First off, Ice Warriors are confirmed for the next lot of episodes.

And the anniversary special itself is going to be available in 3D. Try to contain your excitement...

On a more general note, SFX (the site in both links) has a News Accumulator that they keep updated with everything officially confirmed about the show. Worth keeping an eye on if you want to know definitely what is happening.

I can't get the EW trailer to play in my browser however so I don't know if it's the same one.
