Is there any possibility he can become something like a semi-permanent writer for the show? He seems to have some neat ideas about the whoverse.

Is it just me or was there a kind of similarity(at least implied similarity) between the Cyberwars(Human vs Cybermen) and the Time wars (Time lords vs Daleks) with all parties kind of been similar.

Also, perhaps I missed it but when Mr.Clever was saying that the Doctor was erasing himself from history, did he mention that the doctor had taken part in the destruction of the Cyberian galaxy?

The only thing that really stood out to me during their little tiff was the line about someone filling in the gap he's left by erasing himself.

^This. Although equally, I wouldn't be surprised to find that the Doctor was involved somehow. It's kinda what he does.

It was a little disappointing episode since it's Gaiman and definitely uneven. For every good part of the story there was a bad one. Porridge and Mr. Clever were great, but kids were annoying. The setup was interesting, but the resolution not so much. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as The Doctor's Wife, but I was expecting something better than what we got.

The next episode should be interesting though. And apparently some have already seen it because they got their pre-ordered DVD and Blu-ray early. BBC is bribing fans on Doctor Who Facebook page to not leak it on-line. It's even a good bribe, but we will see if it works.

Anyone who spoils the last episode for me, be they a real person or a internet-person, I will find them, and I will hurt them. That is all.

I'd like to think that anyone on these forums would know better... but best to have it out in the open anyway I guess.

It was more of a snarl to the world than this particular forum :) But then you should never underestimate human stupidity, or DLP trolling.

    True, very true.

yeah i thought the concept of the episode was good and interesting, but personally I'd have preferred it if they had made it a double episode in order to do it justice.

Also is it just me or do these new Cybermen remind you of the Borg from Star trek?

Man, I wish they sent me one by accident even though I didn't order anything :( What reward is the BBC saying?

The children on the whole weren't as bad as I was imagining. I thought the boy was okay. No comment on the girl -.-. I didn't expect the emperor to be the short guy, and was actually pissed at the girl which she said it was obvious. [No, no it wasn't even with the attempted hint(s).]

Quite a few people have said for most of these episodes that they would have been better as a two-parter.

I figured out that Warwick was the Emperor at that conversation he and the captain had. Totally looked nothing like the statue tho.

And it seems that the leak was pretty small, cuz no one who got it has uploaded it. Oh well, Saturday isn't that far away.

I figured it at the point where the girl held the coin up to the statue, or when he was talking about blowing up the galaxy, whichever came first.

No leaked copies yet surprisingly, at least non my whophile friends have found.

I'm not even looking. Not worth potential spoilers. I'm really hoping the finale brings it back to the quality Doctor Who has had in the past.

Eh Doctor Who, especially classic Who is famous for its clunkers, I'm almost fond of some of them. Its just a shame about the current format, you feel a disappointing episode so much more when there's only a run of 5/6 episodes.

Though I think your right that in general episode quality has gone down, it kinda feels to me that though it still has cool ideas, the editing, the structural storytelling, the camera angles ect ect general production quality has declined since Moffet took over. I really wish they'd have given that guy a partner to take his cool ideas and help translate the story onto the screen in a more satisfying way. Hell you can see what a good partnership can do for Moffet, just look at Sherlock.

So...anyone care to place a bet for tonight? My money's on Sherlock. And Clara turns out to be 'The Woman'.

Edit: Well yeah, if I take it seriously...

I bet that there will be some Moffaty gimmick that prevents us from actually learning the Doctor's name.

Given the filming of the 50th Anniversary special, not really no.

Well, it's just finished and that did and indeed said very little to me as an episode outside just proving how poorly this second half of the season has felt overall.

If nothing else, the episode just reminded me how much I hate River and Clara - Deus Ex Machina and Mary Sues with catchphrases.

I wasn't expecting a big reveal or anything like that given what they seem to want to do with the 50th Anniversary special episode but jesus christ... That episode went nowhere outside introducing John Hurt, but that's just my view.

Thoroughly disappointed since the season rebooted earlier this year, the quality has deteriorated, the plot has felt like it hasn't really moved anywhere since the Christmas episode and we have another River seemingly. Happy days.
