    The characters I remember look very different than these stylised images. I'll give it a shot though.

    Anticlockwise from the top, some are just guesses:

    Robot monkey gargoyle = ?
    Tiny aeroplane or spacecraft = Gradius
    Kid with the stone hammer = Adventure Island
    Dragonsaurus = ?
    Femme robot = Metroid
    Tiny elf in green = Link/Zelda
    Plumber with sideburns = Mario
    Kid in blue helmet and gun = Megaman
    Shadow wizard creature in blue cloak = Final Fantasy
    Green muscles and toothy grin = Battletoads
    Motorcycle and rider = ?

    I didn't know Spyro was old enough to be on the NES. The first place I saw him was on the Playstation. Loved that game tho.

    Spyro was blue with a yellow belly if I'm not mistaken. Has to be something else.
