Why is he white?

He's Chilean, but I guess it's the same thing.

 

Oh my God, Taure. You can't just ask someone why they're white.

 

Honestly, I'd love for them to bring back the original actor for the Mountain - I'm sure it came out as they never asked for him back, and he looked much more the part than the new guy, albeit I suppose it would confuse people regarding his character again. That said, we didn't see the Mountain at all in season 3, so, maybe there's hope.

 

Chileans generally consider themselves white, yeah. I upset someone a few months ago by saying, without thinking, that Chile isn't part of the West.

 

I think everyone can agree with this.

I was hoping for someone like Alexander Siddig.

 

Well we know he gets brought back from the dead, so maybe they will cast Andre the Giant.

 

He looks exactly how I pictured him. And chileans and specially argentianians, are white, but more mediterran white, so it's amost what I think of the dornese. Andre the Giant would be an awesome mountain. The first was better, but I thought tha both actors weren't intimidating enough, like the Great Khali.

 

I love those Dornese.

 

For me the Dornish were like the Portugees and the south of Spain, originally and historically European/med, but with a heavy influence from a ancient and heavy immigration from somewhere else, in Portugal/Spains case the Moors.

 

Pretty much.

So pretty spot on with the actor's Ethnicity then. God, I hate this word, but race is much worse. A mediterranean people heavily influenced by foreign invasors os exotic culture that meshed pretty well. Except the whole Inquisition and kill all jews thing, pretty much Iberian Peninsula

 

Thing is, though he's from Chile he looks white white, not hispanic white. He doesn't even look particularly tanned.

Maybe I've just seen a bad photo.

 

I don't know if anybody's seen it, but This is pretty neat.

 

They released a 3 ish minute long deleted scene from season 3 feat. Tywin and Pycelle.
