Didn't Wildbow extend Worm until early next year? I thought that s/he re-evaluated the narrative and decided to develop the ending a little bit more.

Yeah, I think I knew that in the back of my mind. We just had a few people who seemed gender confused over the last page or so.

 

You'd think there's no way Tt wouldn't pick that up if it was true. It might be significant, but I really doubt it's Teacher.

 

Be that as it may, I would still vastly prefer if Skitter were the main character in the sequel again. I have no doubt that Wildbow can make due with other characters, for example, I wouldn't exactly mind Tattletale or Imp becoming the new MC, but as much as I like the worldbuilding and cast of Worm, it has been Skitter's character and story that had me so invested and it would feel really weird to have another person be the next main character.

Especially since it seems to be a setting in which Skitter would excel at-, most likely post apocalyptic after scion setting where humans are scattered over multiple dimensions, trying to reform some semblance of civilization while selfish pricks raid and pillage.

You know, Warlord Skitter. Would seem like a waste to see something like that and not have Skitter in it. Then again, might be something completely different, like a hundred year time skip or whatnot, hard to speculate. Either way, I would miss Skitter a lot and do hope that she will still play a part. Granted that she does not become a hive mind only creature that controls insects and other life worms while existing outside of a body or something like that.

 

Ever since that one interlude, I kind of want a Riley sequel.

 

I want to see Doctor Mother's story.

 

The Number Man. The guy was a founding member of the slaughter house nine as well as an early member of Cauldron. He helped kill a guy who's power was to be nigh unkillable and he outsmarted one of Dragons creators AI's. If we don't get his story I'd love to find out more about him.

Contessa interlude was nice. Great to finally see just his cauldron was started, and how her power works. Now to see just how Taylor has fucked things up.

Who is Satyrical? I honestly can't seem to remember at all.

 

He was one of the Vegas capes; a member of Pretender's crew. His power is to self-duplicate, with the clones having shape-shifting abilities.

 

I'm still not sure I get why he attacked Taylor and Co in Venom...

 

I think it was to do with self control. Satyrical knew that even if his team had the intention of keeping Doctor Mother alive, someone would snap and try to kill her. Which is kind of scary thought. I mean, to be able to say to yourself, "if I had chose between murdering her or saving the world...I don't know which I'd choose" is a pretty horrific realization about your own motivations.

That was my read on it anyway.

 

I didn't realize that wildbow had a separate blog where he discussed his writing. Just read the most recent post (June 26th 2013) which is a reflection on the last 2 years of writing Worm and man, I couldn't have more respect for the guy. Writing the equivalent of a novel more or less every month and making a living off donations... that's one hell of a journey.
