Xorlev, [DLP]Middy and Surrarin are the admin. You have more chance with Middy, he's online a lot compared to the other two I think!

Well, the only reason Speed Gaming got to go to MLG Columbus was because the community demanded it. Love how MLG listened to the community, and redesigned a bit of the tournament to allow them to attend. Looks like the bet they took paid off.

Such great games. Definitely a step above anything else that isn't The International. Can't wait to see more events.

But yeah, if you haven't watched it, go watch it. If you aren't an avid dota 2 fan, just watch the Semi Finals, and the finals. Well worth it, pretty much every game was nail bitingly close.

Edit: Responding to theronin; DK had no lockdown. The only stun they had was Alch, and they even got a blink for him to make it easier. But with BKB, they just couldn't kill him.

Honestly as well as the others played, pieliedie was the mvp for speed. He and lanm both played incredibly well all tournament.

 

I was watching the semi-finals before I had to go to work. Managed to watch the end of the 2nd game. Divine Rapier was amazing

 

lol I've been playing soem games and.... most people still don't know how to counter Huskar?

lulzed hard at that.

My stacking mofo Huskar still got it.

But there seems to be a definitive lack of Pandas. That makes me a sad Panda.

What do you have in mind to counter Huskar actually?

 

Best bet is to have a Ursa/Spirit breaker/Ice Lady/Roaming Riki/Necroguy against him in lane.

1) You get him early game. If its duo lane, focus fire on him. Even if it costs one of you your life. Don't let him build Aghanims and Heart till atleast 30 minutes in.

1.5) Fight at turret.

2) When he ulti's you at his Ulti-level 1 & 2, Don't run. No really. Keep attacking him.

3) Rush atleast 1 pure medium HP item. Not Str, just HP. Or Blademail(?) (Edit) .Rushing Mekanism (Just remembered this name, lulz edit) is a good idea for when he ultis.

I keep forgetting the names of items in DotA and keep thinking of LoL items. I'll update this as soon as I remember them lol.

Edit: Soem items I remember using so long ago to counter him. Black King bar. Scythe or something...

You are giving Huskar too much credit in lane. He isn't that strong to level 5 really, and he can be mostly controlled until then. If you have double melee, yeah you are screwed forever, but just good lane control will do it.

Tower is not that strong against Huskar since he bursts fast and hard anyways, and if you are playing that passive, you are giving Huskar farm in lane anyways.

Fighting him instead of running is also a good idea as unless you have a good stun or good mobility, you will not get away.

The next thing is what Trooper already said. Blademail or Black King Bar. Either of those items will lock down a Huskar. Completely. The nerf to Huskars agility a few patches ago hurt him a fair deal and those items will counter him. Pushstick is also decent but not as strong as a counter as the other two.

 

I just like to go invoker against him. Cold Snap just gives me enough time to burst him down with the fire golem armor reduction and deafening blast. But yeah, Blademail is pretty funny too.

 

Yeah. Popping blademail on Huskar's ult is hilarious - sometimes kills the more risk taking Husks outright.
