Here's a revised version of the Crossover idea, that would make things a little more interesting:

1. Grindelwald gets Renly, Dumbledore gets Stannis, and Voldemort gets Joffrey.

2. This happens right around the Comet, after Robert and Ned died and all three are declared Kings.

3. They do not get Wands, and can only do the bits of HP Magic that don't specifically require Wands.

 

Grindlewald would WTFpawn them in that situation; Dumbledore wouldn't sponsor the shadow, and Voldemort would lose too much time trying to overrule Cersei.

 

Joffery did as he pleased irregardless of what Cersei said. I don't see Voldemort having much trouble from anyone but Tyrion or, until he arrives, Tywin.

Grindelwald would certainly have the easiest time, though.

 

Except the point was you were responding to the situation where they didn't have their magic.

This is a nice prompt for the good guys to hear, except that the stricken phrase is a real mess.

What we have so far: a Dark Lady is in control, but she has a desire for something she can't do/get. The girl with that power will be born to her loyal servants. The Dark Lady (let's call her Maleficent just to be interesting) will recognize this babe and select her as a successor or protege, yet be threatened because of that extra power. (skipped confused line). Maleficent's jealousy-inducing rival is coming to a cradle near you this summer.

If the stricken line means 'either the rival or Maleficent will win, killing the other', then the ones hearing this prophecy get to decide which one they'd rather back. Phrasing = 'and one shall die only as the other arises'. Assuming the usual situation, the good guys need to kidnap the baby and raise her to be a decent sort while still able to murder Maleficent.

If the line instead means 'if they both come to power, they'll be unstoppable', then the ones hearing the prophecy are forewarned to try killing one or the other before the new one reaches her majority. Phrasing = 'and neither shall die if both survive'. Time to start killing baby girls, or make sure that Maleficent gets put down before the girl matures.

If the crux of the matter is the desired power, then you can make a vague suggestion that Maleficent will want to keep the girl alive long enough to steal the gift. Phrasing = 'and one shall rise when desire is satisfied'.

Maybe. Could be cool, but it's not very Harry Potter, is it?

Think of what (at least in canon) Voldemort wanted the most: Immortality. Power he desires.

The line you crossed out means that if Maleficent is alive, then the Girl is immortal and if the Girl is alive, then Maleficent is immortal. Basically, they act as Horcruxes for each other.

Come on, this AU has:

- Female Voldemort.
- Female Harry.
- Potentially Dark Harry (parents never defied Voldemort).
- Immortal Harry (the power Voldemort desires).

My fault.

 

It's not really Harry then, is it? It's just some child relevant to the prophecy, and is most likely the offspring of a pureblood witch and wizard, not that of a 'mudblood' and 'blood traitor'.

 

That's like saying any Fem!Harry AU isn't really Harry. Well, yes, that's the entire point.

 

fem!Harry still remains the child of James and Lily Potter, whereas your protagonist is unlikely to be.

 

Unless we are talking about an AU in which Lily and James supported Voldebabe's quest for power (AU Lily could be a pureblood or something).

 

You might as well in throw in magical cores, trunks that are houses with time dilation effects, truly sentient Dragons, huggable Dementors and Tom Riddle being a good guy.

It deviates too much from the standard form to even be anything close to resembling what and who Harry was. I'm not saying that no fanfic should ever deviate from that, but his parentage, IMO, plays a rather significant part in all these matters.
