theronin, you are so off it is funny. They ended up writing senses that involved a 12 year old hooking up with a 15 year old after being told to stop it. Repeatedly. The mods are useless in that forum, and the users are retarded.

Eh, yes and no. Most reasonable people have nothing to worry about, and as such don't.

That said, there's a good number of posters over there that aren't rational and tend to regularly cross the forum's fairly reasonable and generally-common-sense posting rules (the most commonly violated rule is "no discussion on underage sex or sexualization", for example). These people, for whatever reason, by and large seem incapable of censoring themselves, and thus end up drawing the attention of the mods over and over again, and are thus paranoid about the mods.

In addition, as you may have noticed, it's alarmingly frequent for discussions to move wildly off topic in relatively short timeframes (especially when debate over specific mechanics/physics comes into play). The mods generally frown on such in most threads, as they're meant to be discussion about a particular topic, and so they step in from time to time to chastise people who, to borrow the most recent example I've seen, are talking about the exact mechanics of D&D "magic circle against X" spells in a FoZ story thread.

Unsurprisingly, there's a not-insignificant overlap between these two groups of people, and some of them have become rather paranoid about the mods.

The mods are definitely a presence on the forums, and they intervene somewhat regularly, but for the most part, it's necessary. It's pretty rare for me to wonder why a mod was acting or to feel like they were being unfair. Plus, I've been using the site for the last two and a half years, occasionally getting into some fairly heated arguments and posting moderately often, and I've never once had an infraction or whatever the hell it's supposed to be called. As long as you don't have your head stuck up your ass, you really don't have anything to worry about.

I dunno how to feel about Heredity yet. It IS unique, and I DO like seeing more Panacea POV, but I can't help but think that the author has tied things together too conveniently so far. As a result, some scenes feel a little off.

    For example,
Taylor's conversation with Amy seemed way too open about powers and stuff. The discussion about the Manton effect was a bit weird, and Taylor's reaction to Amy not helping immediately didn't make much sense, given that she was outnumbered and in a tight spot. Alexandria's thoughts on the new cape's influence on Panacea was built on too many assumptions for me.

Eh, shows you what I know. I've mostly been skimming threads and seeing a lot of "beware the nazi mods!" type posts so I was starting to wonder. Thanks for clarifying.

The Silencio thread has drifted into areas pretty clearly against SB's rules several times, so it's gotten several mod smackdowns. At least one of them wasn't really justified, but that's sort of inevitable when you have a recurring source of problems.

Also, Panacea Quest did a pretty good job of biasing some of the mods against all things Worm.

Has anyone else followed Ryuugi's example and written about the fight with Scion from different character's point of view?

I would have thought that would have been the common story to write for a lot of authors.

So, Copacetic is getting less interesting, though the latest update may have set the scene to fix things. I almost dropped it during this update when Danny was being an irrational dick and semi-conscious Taylor felt the warm and fuzzies for him, but I'm glad that I continued on to the end. The situation improves a bit.

I'm trying to get my thoughts in order to criticize the latest chapter of Copacetic, but it mainly comes down to the fact that he writes Danny like shit. Go and take out every subjective observation about him in the last chapter so you don't have any narrator's bias and it's still just terrible.

Danny in Worm is a somewhat distant father who just doesn't know how to connect with his daughter. He doesn't fully trust her, but he loves her nonetheless. This Danny seems to swing between being Brandish and Tiger Mom with all the regularity of a PCP addled hobo who's been eating his Fiber One bars.

The one page comic of Social Media Man is good. It immediately reminded me of Uber and Leet. It'd also make for a decent character/power in it's own right. Perhaps a hero whose powers increase with the number of active followers they have, or the size of the audience paying attention to them, or even the number of people emotionally invested in them.

    Propagation updated.

The chapter meandered at times and it's still reads in an underwhelming manner, but the ball has begun rolling. I'm interested to see where it goes from here, especially with Cauldron on the scene.

I really like this one. The full story thread is here with about 19 chapters. It's set after the end of Worm, Taylor using a new set of powers to piece civilization back together. Very interesting and well-written.

Read the newest three chapters of Copacetic and actually pretty happy with the way it's gone from that trainwreck that was her meeting with Theresa/Hero (after she triggered). The latest chapter especially changes the setting to something that could be pretty interesting - with Danny's relationship with Taylor in utter tatters.

Zenith was fun too. Good to see another post-Worm fic. The CUI arc has been a lot more interesting than I previously thought it'd be. Things seem to be going just a little bit too well for her though.

    Daddy's Girl

A story where Taylor triggers with the power to insert herself into a male persons life as their daughter. The story is actually rather horrifying if you think about it.
The author of the story is RahXephon so YMMV.

I've been looking for a reason to get into this fic, and finally hearing what her power is interests me. That power could be OP as fuck.

Taylor: Daddy those men over there hurt me.
    Scion: Anger
    Taylor: Help me daddy
    Scion: Agreement. Rage. Kill

Not to mention the whole concept is creepy as all fuck. It's like Cherish's power but with the horror cranked up to 13.

Yeah it seems to be very similar to Heartbreaker's power (If I'm remembering Regent's dad's name correctly).

It's nothing at all like Heartbreaker. The closest power to hers would be some bastardized mix of Nice Guy and Victor. She's a Stranger/Trump not a Master.

I'm fairly sure that Daddy's Girl would warrant a Master classification in addition to the others. The PRT's rating system is based on how a person actually uses their powers, and not on what their power is. If you were considering Taylor as a potential opponent, then her modus operandi of manipulating and controlling your agents [or other unrelated parties] is an obvious threat. When confronting Taylor, you'd treat her as if she were a Master, therefore she has a Master classification.
