Forget 'canon' when it comes to SW. Just enjoy each bit of fiction / media as it's own story and things are much simpler.

'Lords of the Fallen' looks really good.

Simply, it's Demon Souls meets Kingdoms of Amalur from the maker of the og Witcher.

What I mean by that is that it looks like it'll be a hub world instead of open. It's more action-y than DS (hence the amalur comparison) and your style of combat seems to be based on your weapon.

Magic hasn't been revealed yet, but it's there.

The fights are very intricate and nuanced (not just bosses), and punishing, hence the DS comparison again.

I'm really excited for it. It should scratch that Zelda/DS itch i have before Nintendo reveals their newest Zelda game.

Just finished Bound by Flame. It was...I don't know. Maybe it was all the glitches in the game, but the story and gameplay honestly felt like the porn parody for Dragon Age 2 in terms of quality.

Yeah... I'm waiting for da3 or lords of the fallen for my fantasy fix. BbF looks budget at the best of times.

Huh.. I had no problems with glitches or similar things.. the game runs smoothly on my PC.

And I wouldn´t go so far as calling the game bad... It simply is mediocre with some interesting ideas and a lacking execution of them. the game tries so very hard at portraying an adult and dark world that it doesn´t seem to notice how boring it is.
The combat is OK and the various enemies refreshingly different.

It is a decent time waster in my opinion, well worth trying out if you can get it in a sale or something similar.

Yeah I had several game breaking glitches. Including conversations happening before they should spoiling some things. The story wasn't very clear to me about what all was happening. I was expecting more choices but so much was super imposed. Also the main character really annoyed me. He was the typical sarcastic/idiot hero. For a rpg I really disliked being forced into that.

Bound by Flame looks pretty mediocre at best, but it's also a huge improvement over the studio's previous game (Mars: War Logs), which looked fucking terrible.

Maybe their next game will actually be pretty good!

So I just got Bravely Default and I'm running through the game right now. Does anyone have any suggestions for team builds? Here's what I'm running right now:

    Tiz- Ninja/Spell Fencer

    Frentic Fighting, Precision, and Hawkeye

    Agnes- Spiritmaster/White Mage

    Group- Cast all, Holy One

    Ringabel- Freelancer/Performer

Stand Ground, Absorb P. Damage, Absorb M. Damage

    Edea- Vampire/Black Mage

Phantom Weapon, Two Handed, P. Attack 10%

Also, does anyone know if Deep Freeze/Hellfire do more damage than their -aga counterparts? I'll probably go Freelancer/Vampire once I get the -aja spells later for MP conservation purposes.

Sup TP, long time no see.

I think My Hero setup is better for BP generation personally than status ailment bp generation due to the need for sp slots on every character and the other strategies are kinda meh. Amped strike is ok in the earlier stage but once you're at the damage cap from most normal attacks, there's not much point. Obliteration is better for grinding as well.

These aren't specific team builds, but useful character builds I've come across:

    1) Suicidal Dark Knight: basically just give someone Atk +20%, Abyss (I think, it's the one that powers up Dark Sword skills), See You in Hell, and the Vampire's revive passive.

How it works: 1) Cast Rage. 2) Spam Minus Strike until killed, at which point See You in Hell procs; the character ideally is revived at the end of the turn. Needless to say, this character's BP will be deep in the red unless you default a ton before setting him/her off.

    2) Monkpire. Basically you want Natural Talent and a lot of HP, which the Monk is good at. Use physical vampire skills and White Wind when necessary. This is also ridiculous.

This next one is a two-character build, mostly defensive:
    3) Swordmaster Tank + Kairai. Basically, set up a character to have high counter damage, good defense, and Swordmaster skills. Set that character to use whatever Swordmaster skill is appropriate. Give a second character (I'd use a support character for this one) Ninja skills and have him/her use Kairai on the Swordmaster every turn.

E: It's kinda weird that thisperson's link doesn't include Ninja Evasion Abuse, so I'll list it here:

First, what you need: Four Ninjas (Lv5+) with Red Mage level 4. They need the following passives: Utsusemi, Transience, Turn Tables, and Comeback Kid.

Tell every character to use Utsusemi. If you get extra BP (you will), tell them to attack. If an enemy can only use physical (the reason to use this build), you can pretty much set it on auto from there, you'll win eventually.

I've been reading the reviews from various sites about Bound By Flame.. and I've come to a conclusion.

Gaming sites are using Bound By Flame as a buttmonkey, a whipping boy. It's an indie game developed by a small studio who lacks in resources.. but they're all judging it by AAA standards and being as harsh as they can while downplaying what's interesting and fun about the game.

I honestly believe they're using the game as an excuse to battle the perception that they're all paid shills who rate based on how much money a developers throws their way, or by how much influence a developer has, and not by game quality (remember, Mass Effect 3 got rave reviews, shit ending and stupidly easy combat included.)

It's not a Triple A title, and if you going into the game looking for one you're going to have issues, but everything I've read says that, as indy games from small studios go, it's pretty good.

I dunno, man. I like indie games a lot, but nothing I've seen of that game makes it look even remotely fun to play.

Wot? The industry has been pro indy for years - at least two, ever since Journey won all those GOTY awards...

Last year, when crazy ppl didn't vote for tLoU, gone home won several awards.

Brothers, steamworld dig, resogun, papers please, flower, towerfall, don't starve, proteus, device 6, guacamelee, the Stanley parable and much, much more.

All of those are from tiny teams and are fantastic.

If anything, triple a games are being judged much more harshly (unless it's a fucking Nintendo game...) due to the increased quality of these 'smaller' games.

I enjoyed Bound by Flame more than Dark Souls 2. That's probably got more to do with the fact that I was hyped for DaS 2 a lot and it didn't quite deliver, whereas BbF just came out of nowhere, I gave it a shot and actually liked some parts of it.

Don't misunderstand, it's nothing fantastic or exceptional, I just honest to god enjoyed it. The music was pretty good too, I'm hoping they release it separately from the game.

Other than BbF, there's not much to play, so I'm just replaying Chamber of Secrets for PC, along with some Crusader Kings 2 on the side with that Game of Thrones mod.

It's also coming out for PC, isn't it? Or is my memory just being faulty?
