A Paladin just turned my 4/9 Twilight Drake into a 4/1 with a secret and then killed it with Hero Power.


Sads were had.

 

Haven't seen a Paladin in ages or anything really as I'm now firmly in Druid country, for three days straight. Only 7 games, but still. All the same ramp netdeck, get's boring after a while.

Decided to take a break from Arenas today and see how far my Mage deck could get me in Ranked. Bear in mind, the only Legendary I use (have) on Mage is Antonidas.

From the base rank of 20something, I reached rank 11. I know it's not exactly very high, but for an evening's work I'd say it's okay.

 

Aggro mage with antonidas finisher? I really like that deck. You can probably make it a good bit further if you get a lucky streak or two.

FireMage is more towards the fun side of things.

 

Yea that icemage is what I was referring to. I don't run pyro though, seems like overkill when you have antonidas as a finisher. Really solid deck though.

 

You'd think that, but half the games I win I do so because of pyro. I <3 that card.

Why, two games ago I brought a rogue down to ten HP and spammed 'Well Played'. He surrendered.

 

I just had the weirdest fucking game of the evening.

Mage vs Mage. I have 10 HP, he has 11. I have Pyroblast in my hand. I am forced to Ice Lance his Drake and hero power his face, so that brings us to both 10 HP, but it is his turn now.

It's like a Mage Standoff. Both 10 HP, both wondering if the other has Pyroblast. The fucker left me sweating for like a minute before playing a minion and I proceeded to Pyroblast him for the win.

So fucking intense.

 

I just had two back-to-back beat down wins using Zoo.

Turn 6 win vs Murloc Zoo.

Turn 5 win vs Handlock. ( Would have been a Turn 4 win but both Knife Jugglers hit Molten Giant.)

I was expecting 1,000 gold per wing, so this is pretty neat. Glad I've been saving up gold with them arena wins.

Helps that I don't care enough about constructed to buy packs.

 

Naxx is slightly more in-game gold than I was hoping for but 2100 gold should be easy enough for me to get. I probably should not have spent 500 gold on packs in the last week.

EDIT:

One thing I hate is that there is no bundled pricing for in-game gold like there is for real money.

I might just end up buying the bundle with real money and save my gold for arena because the real money to gold conversion for Naxx is cheaper that way.

Silence is now the best effect in the game.

 

People have been saying this for a while now (and that Mass Dispel is actually going to see use now), but I'm not sure I completely agree with it. If you try putting in more Ironbeak Owls or Spellbreakers you're sacrificing a fair bit in some decks. Maybe we'll see a bit more silence post-Nax, but I don't think it will be that much more. That said, decks that already run silence are going to get better from this - Keeper of the Grove is run in almost every Druid deck because it's a great card, and it's only going to get better now.

Also, is anyone having trouble accessing Battle.net right now? I know the NA servers for Hearthstone are supposed to be down for maintenance atm, but I can't connect to Battle.net client at all. Is it supposed to be like that?

Lots of lag/latency issues, but it is playable.

I beat the first wing already, and the Druid and Rogue challenge. Haven't tried Heroic yet though, since the lag got worse for me.

Still, had lots of fun. The Naxx Board and Music are pretty good.

 

The Class challenges are fun as hell to play.

Heroic is no joke. I got beat down hard before I even beat the first boss. I managed to beat the wing after tweaking my decks to fit gameplay situations.
