God, I have no wish to read these scripts at all. Really big shame they got leaked IMO. :/

This guy says that Clara and the 12th/13th doctor might not be very buddy buddy by the end of the season. Not hate each other, but not very close either. There's also a pic of Clara welding 11nth's sonic, and that this doctor is going to be less capable then the previous new season doctors, in order to give companions some more time to shine.

If this is a plot thread that goes where I think it will go then I can't wait to see it.

Yeah, so that is basically what I got from reading the scrips aswell, the doctor being a bit more useless

That made me 50% less excited for the new series.

I'm hoping there will be character conflict between Clara and the new Doctor.

It would make sense. Clara and 11th got along pretty well, and they had the same wit. She's used to him being larger then life and the man of miracles who saved an entire planet from an armada with just himself and a planet shield. To go from that to not remembering how to fly the TARDIS makes me think there will be friction. Where Clara kinda wishes the 11th was still around and the 12th kinda resents her for it.

    Which would be cool.

Don't be less excited, he is just a bit more... Less bubbly and more confused. (I am being vague and not all that accurate so as not to spoil too much of it)

Ps. He is also gonna be less socialble, I guess is the word for it, not sure how to describe it.

Uh, just to clarify, are you guys talking about spoilers for the new series since my last post? I read the first sentence of the first new post and stopped.

Because if you are, it really should be in spoiler tags...

    I decided against reading them.

I just saw the full trailer online, and to be honest I am looking forward to seeing now different the new doctor is. What's really intriguing me is the question. "Clara am I a good man?" After the 11th doctor and a good man goes to war, that question is making me wonder. We know that he doesn't think of himself as a good man, but could Trenzelore and his new regeneration a have had the much of an effect. I mean from the way it sounds A Good Man Goes to War was more than a 1000 years ago for the Doctor now.

Or had the 11th been convinced over that millennium that he was a good man and the new doctor's actions are making him question that belief? Either way, I'm looking forward to it.

    Link to the trailer.

The line about going 'into darkness' conjures up some unwelcome memories of the last Star Trek film, but on the other hand, there's a T-Rex in an explosion ridden London (I think; looked like the Houses of Parliament), so that's nicely balanced out.

On the whole, it's probably the worst trailer for any series of the show yet, and I think it's largely down to editing. We don't really get a hint of the Doctor's personality beyond a bit of brooding, there's a few action shots and some blink and you'll miss them monsters, but the teasers they've shown recently did pretty much the same job, and much more effectively imo.
I'm still excited, because more Who is always good, Capaldi is a great actor and they've got some impressive talent lined up both behind and in front of the camera, but for something that's being billed a full trailer, it seems a little scant to me.

Edit@Ragon: It's probably best not to think about how old the Doctor is, or how long ago certain events are for him. He was 900ish years old for most of Davies' time at the helm, but from what I understand the 8th Doctor's Big Finish stories span at least a thousand years. I think the general policy is that each Doctor, at least since the revival, basically just picks a number he likes the sound of and goes with that. It doesn't matter that Capaldi's claiming to be 2000 years old, the key thing is that he's older than the previous Doctors have admitted to being.
As for "Am I a good man?" it could be a) another sign that he's going to be a broodier Doctor than we've been used to for a while, or at least a more openly broody Doctor. b) a less cavalier Doctor, more prepared to ponder the moral implications of his actions than Smith's incarnation (as much as I love his Doctor, it makes a mockery of the War Doctor when we've spent four or five years in the company of bowtie wearing goofball who averaged a genocide a series) or c) regeneration trauma. For all we know, that's a scene from the first episode, and when he regenerated he appeared not to know how to fly the TARDIS. Could be he's just trying to refresh his memory a bit, get used to the new personality.

I'm going by the dates at in The Impossible Astronaut and the fact that he spent centuries defending Trenzelore. No, it's likely not his real age, but he is admitting that he has been fighting a very long time and there's no disputing the centuries on Trenzelore. Either way, the idea of the good man question intrigues me.

I do agree that after the morality of the 8th and War doctors, 11 had a bit of hypocrisy about morality. The war doctor tired of fighting a war that would destroy the universe, 11 fought because he got ticked off about something.

Peter Capaldi is the Doctor now. He's not bad, but 10th and 11th had better first episodes.

And for most other characters I wouldn't had issues with them having problems with the Doctor's regeneration, but Clara's experience as the Impossible Girl made it appear a little forced.

There were parts that felt forced - the regeneration problems are logical, but Clara's seen them all before, so why the problems now? Boytoy gone? The first-day-of-teaching sequence felt extremely hamfisted as well. Reserving judgment on Capaldi's doctor and Clara since he was too manic to get a grip on in the first half and not with companions for most of the second half.

Still, decent enough episode, the usual Moffat breadcrumbs and references, and I'm probably not going to tire of the Paternoster gang any time soon. Especially if it involves Strax dropping in like that.

The plot was the worst of it, but I liked Capaldi, and I liked Clara's reaction to him, it was a good mix of off balance and upset, which seems about right, she may have seen the previous incarnations (however much of that she remembers) but loosing 11 for 12 has gotta be a tough adjustment.

I sort of liked how they handled the change in the relationship, the ideas were there but it felt really awkwardly done.

It was interesting. I think I need to watch it again to really form a proper opinion, but I certainly wouldn't say it was bad. The recycled (heh) plot elements were disappointing, although if you're going to recycle old ideas, at least they're good ones. Can't quite pin down Capaldi's Doctor yet - he's good, but there's still a lot we don't know about him. Coleman was the best she's been since joining the show, absolutely fantastic stuff.

Oh, and the new title sequence? Love it.

I'm not sure about the episode, but I do like the new doctor. Also, the balloon thing made of human flesh? Morbid.

I'm a huge fan of the ticking clock motif in all the incidental music, but I could do without all the slapstick sound effects. The callbacks and twists were fun, but I would've enjoyed them so much more if I hadn't already read them first.

Reading the leaked script did hurt the episode for me, but luckily the performances were just as good as I imagined. Peter Capaldi could easily end up being my new favourite Doctor. It'll take a few more episodes to be sure, but the first impression was very good.
