Let's not bring an argument from another quest here.

...but you're missing the point if you think morality and the power of friendship are the guiding principles here.

I think the possibility of Yohn's abilities are far outweighed by the relationships we could fuck up with taking him in.

And morality seems to be the major sticking point to the "take Yohn in" cause, since I've seen every cliched "what is right" quote under the sun used.

What relationships could we fuck up? Who gives a shit about this guy? Ungren is who they were here for, and Robert is about to drink from his skull.

And no, morality was brought up when people started saying taking him in was Ned-tier naive, and that sort of morality has no place in ASOIAF. Which is fair - and irrelevant. There is a difference between not being a cunt and doing what is necessary. Nobody in the thread is opposed to killing him if the guy proves more trouble than he's worth.

I'm against killing him, I'm just in line with the thinking to send him to Robar and wash our hands of the affair. I don't even think Yohn would hate us, or grow to hate us, etc; I just don't think that pissing off the Tullys, possibly the Freys, and any other lord/heir who lost family by taking in the heir of the 'Mountain King'. Better to just pass the buck, imo.

*shrug* Fair enough. I certainly don't mind washing our hands of him, I just think we shouldn't pass up an opportunity to grab a potential skinchanger because there might be some minor political backlash - and even then, only assuming his identity gets out and anyone cares at all in the face of his father's corpse. The Frey's mean nothing to us, and have no real reason to hate Ungren anyways, these aren't their lands. There are three Tully's left one of whom is about to die, one who is would give no fucks in the face of what we did for her son, and one who is Cat...to whom there is plenty we can say there about blaming the son for the sins of the father. The Vale lords have had their revenge, and we are leaving the Vale now anyways, ect.

It's a more or less universal rule that quest protagonists will be inconsistent over time, probably because of the format's decision-making process. You'll get used to it eventually, though you could start checking the archive instead if it really bothers you.

Wrong thread. This one is about stories not RPG Quests.
Please stop before it degenerates into SV back and forth who's right and who's not.

I started to read a story about Jon Snow being a bastard of Jaime Lannister with Lyanna Stark a few weeks ago, and I'm unable to find it now. Can someone post a link if they know which story I'm alking about?

Huh, SStYF ended, I didn't even notice that.

He's continuing this in a new story called A Pack of Wolves.

I'm not sure what to think of it, it's only 14 chapters so far, and aside from Oswell's chapters, the rest don't really pull me to read it. Hell, Lyanna's first chapter in the story was downright tedious, while the second seemed to make up for it.

So what can he use, aside from the potential Blackfyre threat in Essos, as a plot-hook?

That sounds like Brave As A Lion, which has hinted at but not confirmed Jon as the son of Jaime and Lyanna. However, I think I remember there being another fic with a similar premise, which I can't recall at the moment. Sorry.

Thanks, yeah, it was that one. I didn't remember it wasn't going to be a full story. Pity. The premise is intriguing.

I wish I understood the appeal of Valyria.

Hash, what're the chances that we'd die in Valyria/Beyond the Wall (Hard Mode places, basically)?

Higher in Valyria than Beyond the Wall.

That doesn't fill me with confidence, haha. What exactly would happen, if we die? is it just Game Over, do not pass go, etc?

Pretty much. I've a sequel idea to go with that was initially meant as a side-quest if you don't do Essos, but that seems nixed so it'll work fine as a sequel of sorts.
